  1. He could be unemployed for a decent amount of time if he's seeking a GM position. i doubt teams are going to fire their GMs to hire AA
  2. LOL That's probably the best move he's made actually, imagine Donaldson in the black alternate jersey... yuck
  3. He keeps saying its not the right fit. It was the right fit until Shapiro got hired is it not?
  4. It would be an interesting rebuilding project, kind of like the Jays when he first took over
  5. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/anthopoulos-leaving-1.3293773
  6. Its startiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing
  7. LOL "Alex can you here us? Press *7 to umute"
  8. Just listen on the Fan590, it will eventually start on there too
  9. Blair mentioned that he's good friends with Friedman
  10. Jeff Blair on 590
  11. Apparently Friedman has reached out to AA about some sort of FO role with the Dodgers
  12. lol poor Tinnish. Hurl mentioned Derek Falvey who's Cleveland's new Assistant GM (apparently hired out of school by Shapiro) and Indians beat writer Paul Hoynes said he has a 'hunch' that Indians director of player personnel, Ross Atkins, would be an option too. It will be interesting to see how it goes. I just hope that Tito exercises his opt-out and signs here, I like Gibbons as a person but Tito is light years ahead as a manager.
  13. Francona has an opt-out clause in his contract that is apparently triggered when Shapiro leaves Cleveland. Having something like that negotiated in a contract makes it almost 100% guaranteed that Tito's coming over here, especially since Gibbons has always been AA/JPR's guy. I heard that Gibbons' 2017 year becomes guaranteed if he's still on contract past January 1st so that's probably going to factor in that too.
  14. Do you think this is still a possibility? Shapiro probably wants to hire someone who doesn't have too much experience and will let Shapiro have a lot of control. Tinnish fits that bill. Plus he's been with this organization for a while.
  15. I don't think that would have changed at all with the negotiation of him or anyone else. If you're hiring Shapiro you know that he's going to take more power from AA which will result in AA leaving. If they told him "We're offering you a position but you have to give AA the same power he has right now" he probably wouldn't have signed up
  16. Its confirmed to be AA? I stepped away from the radio but last I heard they have no idea who it was and were speculating it was Beeston and Shapiro lol
  17. I think with that Tinnish might have a shot at becoming GM. Would be a good hire IMO
  18. Rios put on waivers was a dumb move too
  19. Overall as a GM he wasn't that good though. His drafting ability was very subpar You're right he's good at finding value at cheap prices and building good value clubs, but if you're building a team that way then your drafting game better be good. JP's wasn't. What are the top 3 players he's drafted? Hill, Lind, and Cecil? I agree with your statement, I am going hard at JP but he wasn't too bad but at the same time he wasn't that good too. My problem at drafting players that 'provide value' is it never worked out for him in the 8 years he was there. Especially with like 6 of the 8 drafts were top 15 picks you'd expect for him to have changed his philosophy a little bit. I think JPR was just mediocre. Nothing too special, he was good at some things but he was lacking in other things. IMO AA did a much better job, especially when it came to drafting.
