Overall as a GM he wasn't that good though. His drafting ability was very subpar
You're right he's good at finding value at cheap prices and building good value clubs, but if you're building a team that way then your drafting game better be good. JP's wasn't. What are the top 3 players he's drafted? Hill, Lind, and Cecil?
I agree with your statement, I am going hard at JP but he wasn't too bad but at the same time he wasn't that good too. My problem at drafting players that 'provide value' is it never worked out for him in the 8 years he was there. Especially with like 6 of the 8 drafts were top 15 picks you'd expect for him to have changed his philosophy a little bit. I think JPR was just mediocre. Nothing too special, he was good at some things but he was lacking in other things. IMO AA did a much better job, especially when it came to drafting.
