  1. Riccardi? Most of the core players he had like Wells/Rios/Halladay were there from before him. He was good at constructing BPs but do you remember the teams we used to roll out there? His drafting was horrible too, Jenkins over Trout? Romero over Tulo? Russ Adams??? JP was trash
  2. I wouldn't be. I think in the long-term the team is going to benefit and I think the idea of a team teardown is out of the picture completely. We should be in contention for next season, but at a different way than AA would have gone about it. Probably less trading of the farm and more trading of older hitters for younger pitching. I also think we won't be making many moves on the FA market. I wonder if we trade Bautista or EE... Aren't they 10/5 players?
  3. Wilner was on earlier, wasn't too happy with the situation.
  4. lol I agree with you, no one can really be against the Price deal. He was the turning point of year. The last time we had someone like him on the mound was Halladay. If that trade wasn't made we wouldn't have won the division
  5. Jamie Campbell so far has been the most optimistic on the radio so far. Hes bringing up a lot of good points. He just said that most of the people online that are outraged are bandwagoners that hopped on this year
  6. Apparently Francona has an opt-out clause that was triggered when Shapiro left(?). I would love it if Francona comes here
  7. That's a bannable offence! hehehe
  8. I agree, I don't think that specifically that one meeting made AA not want to resign, but it kind of shined light on the situation. Personally I wasn't away that Shapiro's been critical of AA's moves, and this seems to be stretched back to at least the deadline
  9. He's going to get let go. I heard that his 2017 year becomes guaranteed after January 1st. No one expected Gibbons to even coach the team at the time, I remember when he was announced everyone was blown away. JP Riccardi, AA and LaCava all had the same opinion on Gibbons as a solid manager with great handling of the BP, and that was reiterated in AA's last presser, he's really JPR/AA's guy
  10. If you believe the 'scolding' incident, then maybe he felt that he wasn't respected or going to be respected enough if he stays. Law confirmed that Shapiro was highly critical of AA's deadline performance
  11. I probably mis-wrote it, I think he said something along the lines of he wasn't 'kept', not fired
  12. Well he wasn't 'fired' but I know what you're saying . I hope you're wrong though, I hope Rogers told him not to f*** up the team and go into a rebuilding mode. AA in 5 years cleaned up JP Riccardi's mess, rebuilt the farm, and constructed a team that won the AL East and took it to Game 6 of the ALCS. If we do worse this year people will be after Shapiro's head. He's in a high pressure situation IMO
  13. I don't think this is possible. I think Rogers saw so much revenue come in with a winning team compared to the half empty stadiums of the last 2 decades, no way they're going to let him tear down the roster and go through ANOTHER rebuilding phase. Maybe retooling, trading a couple of old bats or something, but no way he's going to trade away most of our stars
  14. Law thinks Gibbon's is going to get let go and thinks a frontrunner is Eric Wedge
  15. Keith Law going in on Rogers and the Jays organization. Says that this is a bad look to fire a guy who did everything the org wanted him to do, especially since he build a top farm system and having home-grown prospects helping out the team now (Stroman, Osuna, etc) and using them as currency to improve the team. Law is praising him for his trading of prospects this season Law's saying that he doesn't understand why the Jays are giving power to a guy who's going to model the team after an organization that isn't better than the Jays (Indians) and wonders why they didn't go after someone who's going to model the team after a successful org
  16. This Westhead dude's talking a lot. Jeff Blair is taking shots at TSN 'No other place to get coverage [of this story] like this, well you can get bad information from other places'
  17. This is becoming more and more exciting, this has the potential for being a pretty eventful offseason
  18. Oh I didn't notice that. Then I guess we can take this stuff with a grain of salt until someone closer to the team confirms it
  19. I would be happy if he took the GM position to be honest
  20. No idea. Some TSN radio reporter also confirmed the scolding incident, but personally idk if he's too reliable
  21. You're joking right?
  22. Well that's one way to make an entrance i guess lol
  23. Huh? I didn't say he's a prick, he totally has the right to do that. I just think it sucks he's not coming back
  24. Are you kidding me?????? Who's the best replacement out there now? If he's getting let go I wonder what the chances are that Gibbons will be let go too? It has to come down to how big of a role Shapiro wants play maaaaaan
