  1. Only the Dodgers were able to execute Plan A, it would appear.
  2. Whit and IKF have roughly the same offensive projections in 2024, and IKF is the far superior defender. IKF is 28, Whit is 35. IKF >> Whit
  3. IKF basically is the Whit replacement Barger is going to be Gruber reincarnated
  4. That is some s*** luck. Projections have him league average bat and defense. He's said 2024 will be his last season "no matter what". Who do we prefer. Espinal or JD? JD retire a Blue Jay?
  5. Josh Donaldson had a .115 BABIP in 2023. How is that even possible? Did he lose so much bat speed all he could do was make weak contact?
  6. Remember Sorrow's source was saying Jays are working on a big trade. Something could yet happen to clear some salary.
  7. 92 MPH right in the wheelhouse lol
  8. BA's report on the trade was quite negative on Gonzalez. Well below average runner at 20 yrs old, the bat will need to be elite. Gabriel Gonzalez, OF Age: 20 Gonzalez ranked as the Mariners’ No. 5 prospect in the just updated Mariners Top 30 Prospects list. He has two standout tools, as he has plus power and a plus-plus arm. He’s slowed down pretty quickly since signing his first pro contract and is now a well below-average runner. That limited speed also limits his range as a corner outfielder. For his limitations, Gonzalez’s bat speed, power potential and bat-to-ball skills give him a chance to be an above-average offensive force if he can improve his pitch selection.
  9. HR Derby Champ gets the cover
  10. Jays are not selling low on Vlad lol I'm sure they kicked the tires on a Bo deal though
  11. Chapman for 5/125M with 100M deferred
  12. At this point Chapman is the ideal signing. Would relegate Horwitz to Buffalo, and Schneider and Biggio would be an excellent 2B platoon. Jettisoning Espinal and getting a speed guy for the bench would be the cherry on top. As of right now, the Jays got to be one of the slowest, if not the slowest, teams in baseball.
  13. Roster Resource has been updated, they have Turner as DH batting 4th, and dropped Otto Lopez off the 25 man. A nice bench of Jansen, IKF, Espinal, and Horwitz. And Buffalo loaded with depth.
  14. Anyone here think the Jays are done with MLB roster moves? I don't
  15. As far as JDM vs. Turner goes, JDM had a 31% K rate in 2023, Turner's was 18.6% JDM is a lot closer to the cliff than Turner
  16. We have to see what Law says. That's determinative.
  17. Springer 21 games at DH last season
  18. Not sure about that. Joc's wRC+ splits are 80 and 115. Turner's are 142 and 105.
  19. Does this torpedo Soler to the Jays? Turner, Vlad, Springer sharing DH duties. Turner superior to Vlad at 1B, Vlad could be the guy getting the most DH reps. Unless he comes to camp fit as a fiddle.
  20. Barger will be the new Gruber.
  21. Vomit.
  22. Jesus, who f'ing cares, its Joc Jays have signed Gausman, Bassitt, etc to reasonable deals that last while. The Jays need to overpay schtick is overblown.
  23. No. Replace Kikuchi with Zulueta then maybe
  24. Justin Topa, Gabriel Gonzalez, DeSclafani, and one other player going to Minny for Polanco Gonzalez is Pipeline's #79
  25. Something I learned today. Gruber's MLB career effectively ended as a result of the World Series triple play. Played in just 18 games after that one. "However, the second-base umpire ruled Sanders safe. Gruber tore his rotator cuff on the play; however, he hit a key game-tying home run in the eighth inning, and the Jays won the game in walk-off fashion, later taking the series in six games. Gruber was traded to the California Angels for Luis Sojo in December 1992. Soon after his arrival, Gruber announced that he had bulging discs in his neck. Just over two months after the trade, Gruber had shoulder surgery to repair a rotator cuff tear. Gruber was expected to be sidelined for at least eight weeks. Angels manager Buck Rodgers was angered over the news of Gruber's surgery; he felt that the Blue Jays must have known about the extent of Gruber's injury before they traded him. Rodgers said that Rene Gonzales would be the team's third baseman that year. Gruber returned to action in June, but after playing in only 18 games, Gruber went back on the disabled list with continued neck and shoulder problems the next month. In September, the team placed Gruber on waivers. He was owed $4 million for the 1993 season, but the Blue Jays agreed to pay $1.7 million of that total. In 1997, Gruber attempted a comeback with the Baltimore Orioles. While his performance was good enough to impress coaches and staff with the Orioles, Gruber decided to retire for good due to health-related concerns."
