  1. By the way i dont think the rude insults were warranted or appropriate.
  2. Of course. Misspoke. See the BA report. As usual, defensive scouting reports are over the map.
  3. "He blocks balls well, but his arm is fringe-average and he could improve his footwork and release to get rid of the ball faster after throwing out just 19 percent of basestealers in 2018. THE FUTURE: If everything clicks for Jansen, he could have a similar profile to fellow Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin. He’s ready for a larger role in Toronto in 2019." From BA 2018 report.
  4. Read somewhere that his basestealers caught% in the minors was well below average. Will look for the link. Of course arm strength just one factor of many.

Yes its unlikely but thats what i would do. The sam pollock route to a dynasty.
  6. And with Jansen behind the plate. Weak arm
  7. The only way this deal makes sense is its somehow for some reason a delayed part of the osuna deal

Thing with the Leafs is their young players are continuing to emerge. Johnsson has upped his game and is creating chances with his speed. Gauthier has been solid as a 4th liner, not making many mistakes. Kapanen is establishing himself as a top 6 guy. There is a great group of young D with the Marlies, the same will happen on the defensive side over the next few years. This is why if nylander is moved, id rather he be moved for picks. Sustain winning.
  9. Sure, its just a random thought. I can see the jays front office wanting a firmer hand on the field with the youngsters coming up.
  10. Sure they liked him, he let them get away with s*** i am sure. So anyway, stroman antics, bautista constant bitching, pillar gay slur, jpa social media s***, yunel eye black (was this during gibby?). Probably a lot of other things reported i cant recall off the top of my head, and no doubt a lot more not reported. Just a thought that gibby may have been seen as too easy going, leading to issues and contributing to decision to replace
  11. Just for the sake of discussion, anyone consider the jays to have had more than a fair share of clubhouse issues / friction during Gibby's 2nd tenure? There were certainly issues during his 1st tenure. Besides game management, there is personnel management, and was gibby lacking in that dept
  12. When Bautista left we lost a CF option after Pillar. Remember that? Good times.
  13. If my valuation of Jansen and Anderson is incorrect, I apologize. It was just as I said an outside the box idea to take advantage of high catcher demand when Jay's have McGuire and Martin. Agreed those guys are mediocre options.
  14. Fair. I'd move jansen for whitley and a few others in a heartbeat. Next tier guys like anderson, tougher sell
  15. Jansen a franchise catcher? I see him as above average but not AS calibre. Anderson is higher ranked as a prospect, 39 on ba compared to 68 for jansen. If thats not enough to take on teherans final contract year, fine Point remains, catchers are at a premium right now, jays could take advantage and get a better supporting cast for vlad
  16. Outside the box thinking, but there is a demand for catchers out there. Jansen to the Braves for ian anderson and teheran? Braves want to dump teherans salary Jays roll with mcguire and man bun behind the dish
  17. Have to give up something to get something. If the braves come calling with surplus pitchers to deal, want giles+, you work something out
  18. Cant see Drury being moved. He'll have every opportunity to justify the Happ deal to the casuals. Diaz, pillar, smoak, giles, could be moved from the big league team, guys like kevin smith, biggio potential milb movers. For pitching, of course.
  19. Nah, your interpretation of what i wrote was flawed, just your bias showing.
  20. Of course, but i wasnt comparing parks.
  21. No swing and miss. You don't think Duvall could hit 40 at RC?
  22. True but he's 30 yes old and the control would just increase his value
  23. Duvall is just a stopgap, 1 year deal guy ideally. He could be knocking them out at a 40 home run clip in the Jay's bandbox with above average defence and can be moved at deadline This is all a rebuilding team wants from non tenders, really
  24. Duvall is a guy to look at. Was babiped this year
