  1. Bregman. Flags fly forever. If Roger's is opening the wallet to this extent, go for it!
  2. Out of 32 MLB catchers with the highest playing time in 2024, Kirk ranks 30th for baserunning. Ahead of O'Hoppe and Salvy
  3. The integrity of this thread has been damaged beyond repair
  4. F***ing Rays. Watch Kim put up a 3 WAR season this year for $13M
  5. I guess Arraez hitting in front of Vlad would not be the end of the world.
  6. There is an overwhelming industry consensus on #1. Then there are those who as a matter of principle will never pick such a player #1.
  7. If Alonso goes back to the Mets and Bregman to the 'stros, as is likely, Kim becomes the Jays target. He'll give the Jays a leg up on future Korean players coming over.
  8. We need you back in LOD. A great team can be yours.
  9. I guess. The underlying metrics with the bat were fine. Similar to the year before. Went from .331 to .252 BABIP
  10. St. Louis Post-Dispatch: The Cardinals are committed to youth in 2025, which includes giving Walker a long leash in right field. The 22-year-old Walker slashed only .201/.253/.366 over 52 regular-season games with St. Louis in 2024 while spending a large chunk of the campaign in the minors. I expect they are actively trying to move guys. Still time.
  11. Cards are in rebuild mode and have commited to full time MLB for Walker in 2025 Possibly once Bregman signs, Arenado gets moved
  12. Bregman seems a perfect fit for the cheaters
  13. After the first few there is a tier of several guys. Expecting a lot of surprises in this draft.
  14. CWS would likely move Robert Jr for Nimmala and not a whole lot more
  15. Delgado 1 and done in HOF voting. So bloody stupid.
  16. My view is the offense will be better but the rotation will collapse. I went through the 1994 to 2012 period. The annual FA signings to put bandaids on a flawed team. This is what the last few years remind me of. It never works.
  17. I would put the Yankees, Orioles, Twins, Rangers ahead even assuming Alonso and Scherzer go to the Jays. Mariners, Astros, and Red Sox right behind. It is likely the Red Sox at least make additions (Bregman). In the NL probably another 5 or 6 teams ahead of the Jays. I would assume a rotation that includes Gausman, Bassitt, Berrios, and Scherzer would return quite a bit less than its projected WAR.
  18. The Jays seem to negotiating with Alonso and Vlad simultaneously. Obviously they prefer to sign Vlad, but if those negotiations fail, get Alonso for a shorter term and less money and trade fatass to reload the farm. I'm not even close to thinking this team is a legit WS contender.
  19. If Vlad competently played a position like SS or CF, instead of being a defensive liability at 1B (lol) and a liability on the basepaths, then sure $45 to 50M a year would be market value. As is, there is no way his market value approaches, much less exceeds, $40M a year.
  20. Sorry, $450M for Vlad is crazy, won't happen unless he goes to FA and Cohen opens his wallet.
  21. I don't think the Jays need to offer up what he *might* get paid in free agency. Vlad sees what Santander signed for after weeks of negotiations, and Bregman still without a Contract. I expect Vlad does not want to go through the FA wringer. Unless he wants to leave the Jays, which is certainly possible, he will sign a somewhat competitive offer from the Jays. 10/360 with deferrals and opt outs?
