  1. Unless he wants to sign with a west coast team, but..... We are all speculating (spitballing) on his possible motives for liking Toronto It could be as simple as the convenience of the Skydome hotel and a short walk to the UP express to the airport.
  2. He was in the third grade during the 2011 Great East Japan earthquake. The resulting tsunami swept away his house. His father and grandparents died, while Sasaki, his mother, and his two brothers had to live in a nursing home during the recovery. Could this be it?
  3. Ya if the Jays strike out on Sasaki, trade his giant ass
  4. 0 is a bad omen
  5. It is certain that at the F2F the Jays and Sasaki talked about the team outlook. Pure speculation, but I expect the Jays made commitments as part of their pitch. Coming out of these commitments, I can see a big splash tomorrow, with Sasaki and Bregman announced at the same time. Strike out on Ohtani and Soto, but get a comparable WAR upgrade through the Sasaki / Bregman combo. It will be glorious.
  6. In April of 2023, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic wrote that “Some Japanese players are uncomfortable being major-league teammates with other Japanese players because of the importance of seniority in Japan’s hierarchical culture, major-league executives and agents say.” It's happening!
  7. The interesting bit is the Rangers had no deals lined up with international free agents, as they were all in on Roki. I guess they will call on the guys the Roki winner had lined up.
  8. Nice park for Verlander to try and pad his stats
  9. Noelvi is 5 years younger. Jays need to build for the future that the almost 29 yr old Clement is unlikely to be part of.
  10. Jays need to pounce and get Noelvi Plant him at 3B and let him work through his issues, much like another Reds 3B that came to the Jays
  11. Roki has missed time from injury the past few years. Langford 98 wRC in 1st half and 123 wRC in 2nd half last year. Prediction - Langford with a 130+ wRC and Roki struggles and misses time in 2025. I'll take the hitter.
