  1. This is what Stroman said: "No amount of money honestly," when asked by a fan about the possibility. "Peace of mind is always priority." How does what he said justify:
  2. Well if La Russa was hired with the expectation he would "get the players in line", it will indeed be a trainwreck in Chicago in 2021. It's 2020, not 1960.
  3. Too easy, but I'll stop tearing you up. Have a great day.
  4. Agreed. Stroman's only problem is he is not afraid to speak his mind. For sure he is not alone on this.
  5. We are discussing the weather. It's a Canadian pastime.
  6. OK but you said "Canada is weird." It's not unusual to see those temperature extremes these days anywhere in the world. Not sure how the situation you describe makes Canada "weird". Also "... most extreme difference in recorded history." Geez.
  7. Cubs declined option on Lester. Although 2020 was mediocre, he returned 2 WAR or more the previous 12 years. Think he has anything left in the tank, a fit for the Jays?
  8. Yes, the weather can be quite variable across the land. Not sure what is weird about it.
  9. Canada is big.
  10. If the Jays land Bauer, you can be sure they will add one more starter and a high leverage reliever.
  11. I've been saying for a year now the Jays won't move into true contender status until both Pearson and SWR are in MLB as effective starters. Yes, I am expecting SWR to be at least a mid rotation guy. Could happen as soon as 2022. Of course the Jays could go nuts and overpay for Bauer and Springer and advance the timeline.
  12. Are we assuming Thornton is unavailable for 2021?
  13. Can't you tell my post was not serious? Just channeling my inner Olerud.
  14. Fantastic deal. Minimal risk. I at least used an entry level s***** ass economics approach to quantify the risk.
  15. still better than your assertions without evidence
  16. its what i remember of game theory, economics 101 not fuzzy logic, some serious brains do game theory research
  17. Hard to find issue with a cheap 1 yr deal for a historically 2 WAR pitcher. With a 1 year deal, the scenarios are: Ray is good, Jays are good = profit Ray is good, Jays are bad = Ray traded at deadline Ray is bad, Jays are good = a little less profit Ray is bad, Jays are bad = f*** off Ray Only 1 bad scenario out of 4.
  18. Grichuk has been earning his Contract. Roark sucks, yes. But on the other hand, every team has bad contracts. Why would the Jays be any different?
  19. More likely to see the 2015 to 2019 Robbie Ray than the 2020 version, with a proper spring training ramp up. Good, and could be great, deal.
  20. That's fine, but you can still answer the question posed.
  21. From the info I was looking at, their arm strength is similar. Agree on the rest.
  22. Both Biggio and Bichette have arm strength not suited for 3B. Bichette has more range. If arm strength is same/similar you probably put the guy with more range at 2B.
  23. https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/07/us/dodgers-covid-cases-world-series-spt/index.html 5 Dodgers COVID positive
  24. Heck of a defensive improvement
