  1. He didn't take last year off. In a normal MiLB season he would have spent half or more of 2020 in AA. Instead he was sharpening his pitches in camp. It wasn't a lost year. This just out...... https://www.mlb.com/news/blue-jays-farm-system-analysis-2020 "Right-handers Pearson, Woods Richardson and Alek Manoah (No. 5) all look like future rotation candidates for the organization and could pitch together in the big leagues sooner than expected." When I say we might see SWR in 2021, I mean for some bullpen duty, maybe a start or two. Like 15-20 innings purely to lessen workload for the other pitchers.
  2. A couple of MLB executives have stated they expect a 170 innings limit on all pitchers in 2021. Bauer excepted, of course. This increases the chances we see guys like SWR next season.
  3. If you have him on your roster, he will win you the steals category most weeks. 80 grade wheels and expected high OBP.
  4. The expectation is Brujan will play all over the diamond. Rays had him playing SS last year's AFL, and he's played a fair bit of CF.
  5. And will stay slow until after the Dec 2 non-tender deadline, then I am expecting all hell to break loose.
  6. I'm guessing he will only be up if there are injuries. Otherwise, TBR will slow roast him to an early 2022 debut. The week 1 summary https://www.prospectslive.com/featured-articles/2020/11/22/best-and-worst-of-lidom-week-1
  7. There is a time for everything. Keep in mind that we might have never have seen Tellez / Teoscar emergences by a less patient AA approach where the Jays sign FA and trade prospects for veterans. Hell, remember last off season and a lot of guys here were promoting signing EE and kicking Tellez to the curb? I don't think it's the right time now to load up the roster with Bryants and Darvishes and Happs and Odorizzis. Maybe 1 or 2 of such players at most. Reason being I believe there will be other young players emerging next year, Hatch and Murphy being the most likely in my mind. But they need the opportunity. 2021 should be another cautious year, give the youth a chance to flourish. If the Jays find themselves comfortably above .500 at the deadline, sure move a Kloff or someone for a needed upgrade. I've said it many times before, the Jays time to win WS will come when Pearson and SWR are both with the big club and contributing. At that point they will have the balance of cost controlled talent and budget room to field a top contender.
  8. And Atkins did it with like 60% of the salary budget AA had. There's really no doubt Atkins is the better GM.
  9. AA emptied the farm to make the playoffs. Atkins made the playoffs without damaging an elite farm.
  10. Good job. Draft room works great. We used it in the cutting edge league BBDL. God, I finished last in 2020 and pick 11th. FML.
  11. Is it possible to finalize the 2021 draft order now? Helps with strategizing.
  12. LA was already successful. AA stepped into a gold mine in Atlanta. He has, though, similar to what he did in Toronto, obtained some crazy good contracts.
  13. And needs to reduce the stress on those knees.
  14. I'm not worried about a big boned boy like Vladdy losing bat speed by getting leaner. If anything, the bat speed will increase.
  15. There's a shitload more of them though. And the CFR for young healthy individuals is quite low. For these and a few other reasons, don't agree with your suggestion. edit - there is also a question of whether these vaccines prevent infection, or only prevent moderate / severe illness.
  16. It makes more sense for a contending older team to move farm pieces. The Jays are a good young team with a very strong farm. They are in a good spot. Well managed, with limited moving of appreciating assets for depreciating assets, they should be a contender for years to come. A WS is more likely from a long window of contention then a short window.
  17. If PED use = /= HOF, does trash can banging or being wired up = / = HOF?
  18. Holy s***. Logan Gilbert for the corpse of Clevinger?
  19. Or hang on to to pay for a 'roidless borderline unplayable Cano the last two years.
  20. Was able to sleep last night without it no problem. f***ing overprescribing pain meds. People are tough enough to get through short term pain.
  21. Bryant but that has to be a pipe dream. But who knows
  22. Guys what about Jon Lester? 12 straight years with 2 WAR or more, until this COVID year.
  23. I heard he is going to retire if he doesn't get a contract from Marlins or Rays. Probably Atlanta would be alright with him also, and is a quite possible landing spot
