  1. If Toronto pursues Lindor it won't be by trade, it will be as a FA at the end of 2021. Signings this offseason probably pitching and locking up a couple of roster guys long term.
  2. So no baseball this weekend, wtf
  3. What a dumb question.
  4. Would never fly with the Owners, regardless.
  5. No, its not a black and white issue as you put it. It's how you balance out in-game data / performance vs. analytics.
  6. Yes there is data based on past events. Maybe they gave high weight to the data, and little weight to how Shoe had pitched in the game. Whatever balance they struck, I think it leaned too far on the past data bit.
  7. Both sides have good points, no?
  8. At the very least, leave Shoe in for the righty Arozarena and bring in Ray for the lefty Lowe. We had a replacement level pitcher throw a no-hitter a few weeks ago. When a pitcher is on, and Shoe was on, IMO he stays in the game until the first sign of a struggle.
  9. Hilariously stupid. It's not the f***ing All Star game.
  10. lol, we knew a high fastball was coming, but damn not that high
  11. f***ing stupid. Ray could walk the bases full. The f***.
  12. Correct, but the punishment is more a reflection of Rose's behaviour after the fact, if not more so. It was not until 2004 that Rose admitted he bet on baseball including the Reds. If he had admitted to it when the accusations were first made, he likely is in the HOF.
  13. Logic says that before the start of a series, games 1 and 2 have equal importance. After game 1, the importance of Game 2 changes for both teams, depending on who won game 1. Nobody needs math to prove or disprove these unalienable truths. Lies, damn lies, and statistics.
  14. Still gotta play it by ear. Every time a pitching change is made, there is a risk the new guy is going to s*** the bed.
  15. Had no idea a best of 3 is so complicated.
  16. In 2020, 233 pitchers made 2 or more starts. in 2019, 236 pitchers made 5 or more starts. So the reduction from 5 to 2 for pitchers checks out.
  17. Yes, but prorating would be closer to 10 and 4, 5 and 2.
  18. Regarding thresholds, owners have targetted and made trades on the basis of positional flexibility. So it might be unfair to use the thresholds for a full season for 2021. Suggest prorate based on number of games in 2020
  19. Yes, and the other thing that doesn't get talked about enough is the high volume of useful players coming from the Blue Jays farm. For the first time in a long time. Whether good drafting, strong player development personnel, or the high performance team, or all of them together, this is very promising.
  20. Normally would have 7 different starters used during a week. In BBDL this dropped to 5 or so, and I increased RP by about 2. The 2 additional RP returning better value than the s***** #6 and #7 starters.
  21. Full credit to Spanky then!
