  1. Jays and 'spos came out on losing end, whether selling or buying an ace.
  2. Yes, a club option with a buyout, and front loading the value, would make sense to lure Springer here. Something like $40, $35, $25, $20, $15, and option $15 (or $5 buyout)
  3. Yeah, I would have picked him at 1 or 2 years, but 3 years at $15M AAV is too much for a guy old enough to fall off a cliff, Matt Carpenter style, as soon as this year.
  4. Didi 3/48 ($16 AAV) Hendriks 3/45 ($15 AAV) Walker 2/20 ($10 AAV) Archer 1/9 ($9 AAV) Value signings on shorter term contracts, free up cash when it's time to extend the core. The other aspect is there will be other free agents available after 2021, 2022, etc. Signing a Springer and DJLM for example could limit the Jays bidding on these FA when they are top contenders (and Springer and DJLM in decline).
  5. The longer it goes without NYM signing Springer, the better I like the Jays chances.
  6. No it not semantics. A huge difference between Yankees or home, or MLB team or home.
  7. The original report was that if the Yankees did not resign Tanaka, he would go home i.e., he would not sign with any other MLB teams. That is the report that was debunked.
  8. SP are in short supply? Other than arm hanging by a thread guys like Waino
  9. Didn't pull the ball enough. Not enough of a run producer for a 1B.
  10. Just recalibrate and strengthen your filters. And disregard Morosi content.
  11. Opinion/conjecture has always been part of media content, along with actual news.
  12. The media is a business. National Enquirer was a successful business based on BS sensationalism. No surprise that similar tactics are used by others.
  13. That report has been debunked.
  14. Drafting guys that play in the middle of the diamond and moving them to the corners as they fill out and slow down is old as dirt.
  15. We don't take kindly to braggarts.
  16. f*** it, I'll extend the competitive window. Sorry Mr. Rickey. You weren't gonna trade Tork+ for Springer and Darvish anyway.
  17. Spank was involved in roster construction, but had to get TCA's permission for any moves.
  18. You willing to overpay for Springer and Darvish, get yourself lined up for a 2021 title?
  19. 7th in PR, finished last. Bad day to day management maybe.
  20. 23 yrs old with a 36% K rate in A ball in 2019. Prospect label fits rather loosely.
  21. Nice reverse jinx.
  22. https://twitter.com/jpricciardi1
  23. Driving up the Angels price.
