    Agree with you to a certain extent. But given the choice of Toronto, Cleveland, Baltimore, and Detroit, I expect most would prefer Toronto. Yes, the Jays would need to pay more compared to the Mets for Springer's services. Maybe same AAV /year, but with an additional year and buyout clause tacked on.

    Mets are constrained by luxury tax considerations. Cohen may be rich, but he ain't stupid.

    Haven't made a list, but I doubt picks beyond #10 have much value, as I mentioned. At that point you are basically interchanging the prospects on your farm with prospects of similar value. No opportunity to assess prospects in 2020.

    Something you need to know about the prospect draft coming up in March. The pickings are slim. We had a draft last summer that took most of the top new prospects. The March draft is pretty much limited in value to the international free agent signings, Kim, Sugano, Colmenarez, Christian Hernandez, those types. So the 2021 draft picks have negligible value outside of the first 5 to 10.

    If I sign Bauer for 5/175, no way in hell is he pitching every 4 games. Also, what happened to his whole signing 1 year contracts spiel?

    Also, the league is now a true dynasty. No more cutdown / waiver draft. Prospect draft is now during the winter, not in August during the season.

    Just being devil's advocate. Gurriel was the Jays primary SS for a year and has a good arm.
