  1. Hassell for me.
  2. Who knows. I won't be surprised if Kirk is in AAA at the start of the season for the length of time needed to regain the year of service.
  3. As I noted earlier, there is a situation where the Jays forgo the business loss and start Martin's clock in 2021. But it's rather unlikely, IMO.
  4. Isn't the prevailing wisdom that these things are best developed in the minors and specifically the higher levels?
  5. If the goal is a window of contention, this holds water. if the goal is sustained winning through player development and a constant pipeline, it does not.
  6. No, I am high on Martin. But there is a reality here, baseball is a business.
  7. The virtually nil might apply in this case. A lot of "ifs". Jays will be more inclined to bring up whoever is the MIF injury depth in AAA (probably Urena).
  8. Chance Jays start Martin's clock in 2021 is virtually nil.
  9. Dude, I finished last in 2020 and pick 11th. You can select previous seasons in Fantrax, through same click that let's you move between leagues. I can't remember the weighting factors used for 2019 and 2020 to set pick order. Something like 70/30 or something.
  10. Of course he does, as long as it makes sense to do so. Maintaining some level of financial flexibility is important. Injuries happen - Jays sign Bauer and he needs TJS, salary is still on the books. Vladdy could hit 50 HR in 2021 and it makes sense to buy out some free agent years now. Shatkins doesnt want to be reckless, and doesn't want to be too cautious either. It's a balance.
  11. I think most here recognize the Jays are in a very good position, with the exception the pitching side is a bit weak both on the club and on the farm. Then there are others that want to sign everyone and accelerate the competitive window, in the process potentially shortening it (by long expensive contracts).
  12. The "Tribe" as a dark horse. Have the money and the need.
  13. I'll be fine with it, whatever it is, because Shatkins knows what they are doing. Just hope it is front loaded so he is paid as the best player in the early going and not in the later going, when he will not be.

Pretty passing by the Leafs. Doesn't win games though.
  15. Good plan!
  16. Juan Soto avoids arb for $8.5M. Three years of control left before he hits free agency at age 25.
  17. Totally not true. There aren't enough 9s and 10s out there to add up to the conquest total.
  18. Are you OK, man?
  19. Great, so we have to wait until the DH matter is decided before Springer makes up his mind.
  20. None of the rebuilding clubs were there.
  21. This seems to be a carbon copy of your posts on Tellez this time last year.
  22. Yes, and I think the Jays FO knows what it is doing. It's still a roll of the dice on Walker, but the odds are not bad at all.
  23. 1 inning pitching in 2019. I hope you aren't counting that. The 53 innings in 2020 are for his first year back from surgery. Based on history, he *should* be better in 2021.
  24. 10M seems high for Walker but a bit of a roll of the dice. Often, a pitcher is better the 2nd year after returning from injury. Walker is 28 yrs old
  25. Not close, my friend. Try again.
