    Re: your 2nd paragraph. With more playoff spots we might see more teams "going for it" so the boring scenario may not actually happen too often. More likely, there will be more excitement, with more movement of teams in and out of the playoff grid along with the races to get the benefit of being a division winner.

    Have seen it in other sports (e.g. hockey) where a team that gets a bye comes out flat when it is time to play again.

    Gotta wonder if the Jays take on the Moustakas contract as part of a deal. I see a rebound from Moose after a couple of injury plagued seasons, might not be too bad.
