  1. Yes. This forum will be unpleasant if that happens.
  2. The Padres would probably move him to first as he'd be blocked behind Wil Myers in CF.
  3. I think it's easy enough to see what Gibbons was trying to do; get an extra inning out of Sanchez to extend the amount of time his top relievers are in the game. If Smoak is able to make that pick, perhaps the whole inning goes differently. That said, I would be very surprised if they try Sanchez for two innings again in a close game again as the last two times have not worked out. For all the flak Gibbons get around his bullpen management, I think he generally does a good job of finding the balance between not overreacting to a single outcome and going too long with a situation that isn't working.
  4. I think his offense will age well. To me it seems like JB is a pretty cerebral player who will learn to adapt his game as he ages.

My Eagles get started tonight. Hopefully Chip Kelly's vision pans out.
  6. Whichever team has the fewest ex-Jays on it.
  7. I think the only downside of this approach is the difficulty of getting Stroman consistent work. If Stroman is healthy, and can go 100 pitches, and pitch effectively, then I think you have to get him in there every 5th start. The real trick is how to determine if he's ready for the rotation, without putting him in the rotation. It's obviously easier to bump Hutch or Estrada from a veteran-PR perspective than MB, although it seems like MB is the one that might be the one is running out of gas the fastest. Really tricky situation.
  8. Zaun was pretty insufferable on Tim and Sid: - Can't take Hutch out of rotation because Wins - Can't take Estrada out because ERA - Can't take MB out because Veteran/Disrespect - Altering the rotation by using Stroman is the same thing as starting to use Jeff Francis in the 8th inning I do agree with his point though that this decision should be about the 2015 Jays. It's just odd that he would be so emphatic about that, but then insist that you have to continue with the guys that got us to this point, regardless of how they are trending.
  9. I think I read somewhere that Beeston asked MLB not to blackout any games. Not sure if that's the actual reason or not.
  10. Tough to plan on him being a part of the starting group. Need to see him truly healthy first.
  11. I like this idea, but only if that crime fighter takes the form of Ted Rogers.
  12. I wonder what Josh Donaldson would say to the idea that this team could be jinxed by a thread on a message board.
  13. I will say that it was pretty cool for Buck and Tabby to shut up during the Tiger's last at bat so that we could really hear the crowd.
  14. I was last year of high school, then first year university. The second win at university was insane.
  15. I remember this quite well as we were having Thanksgiving dinner at the time. Scarfed down my food so quickly so I could run back into the family room to watch.
  16. I remember the early 80s, but it was the Drive of 85 that really sucked me in.
  17. This is where the internet needs to step in and destroy this woman's life.
  18. You were supposed to.
  19. I did not know this. That's pretty cool.
  20. What kind of device are you watching it on? If I run it directly through the app on my SmartTV (LG), it can get a bit glitchy, but if I watch it on my Surface, or throw it from my Surface to the TV through a wireless display adapter, it's perfect. I'll also take the odd glitchiness to be able to watch every game from every team anywhere I go.
  21. I stopped watching after the second sponsor's message appeared. How long did he talk for that they had to cram in two sponsor's messages?
  22. Mostly the history. Two four-inning outings from the starters in Philadelphia didn't help!
  23. Would really love to see Price spin a gem and the offense score a few early runs. Can't help but have some lingering doubts about this team.
  24. Does Gibbons have his eyes closed? Not complaining != not hurting. MB's recent performance with Navarro, plus Martin's discomfort should have led to Navarro starting last night, IMO.
  25. Sure, I get that, and I don't disagree that Hendriks should have received the first call, especially since he came in later and was thus available. Still, it was an all-around lousy effort. I'm not denying that Gibbons management didn't play a part in the loss, but to pin the blame on him I think is a bit much.
