  1. I agree this is wrong just like it was wrong last year to send him down when Reyes came back. However, I would also add that Gibbons has a say in this and he could flat out tell AA that his team is better off with Kawasaki at the MLB level. In fact, it might be best to have a Kawa-Diaz platoon. Anyway, too late now.
  2. Agreed. No denying he was crap last night, but to tonight, you've gotta give credit to Kipnis and Santana. Kipnis laid off some tough sliders and Santana not only laid off a couple of tough sliders, but also fouled off 2 or 3 that would've been called strike 3. Plus, nothing more exciting that a tense 9th-inning situation like that, certainly not for the faint of heart.
  3. It's lack of fastball command, to be more specific, that's hurting Santos right now. His fastball is also pretty straight so it's hittable and he's been topping out at 93 MPH the last couple of outings. He's the closer though, so there isn't much you can do.
  4. I think it's a different bounce when the pitch hits the plate which seemed to be the case on 2 of Santos's wild pitches.
  5. Great, thanks. Phew, was thinking there might be an injury.
  6. Anyone know why Norris was taken out after 4IP in his start today, he's been lights out so far.
  7. Gose in CF and Hamilton in LF for 2015....track team V2 baby!
  8. Especially from AA given how much he's been giving up in trades recently.
  9. If I were AA, I'd trade for him so Seitzer can turn him into a .300 hitter....do it AA!
  10. Did Cecil leave the game with an injury? If he did, let's hope it's not serious.
  11. I think he be injured now. There's talk he goes on teh DL and that's why Francisco's name is being brought up.
  12. No big deal, it was a risky move and it hasn't paid off. I don't know why anyone would deny they liked the move at the time. I maintain it was the Dickey trade where AA really f***ed up.
  13. Good find. This is what I remember as well. the Dickey trade was frowned upon for the most part, but not the Marlins trade, for the most part again. And yes, some of the quotes there are gold.
  14. Freakin' White Sox almost gave away the game to the Sox in the 8th, but got out of it. They walked 4 that inning.
  15. Yup. It really was embarrassingly shocking.
  16. This illustrates how unexpected and flat out shocking it was for so many posters that AA would give up D'Arnaud and Syndergaard + an int'l signee who got a nice bonus, IIRC. You have to remember how Gose was viewed at that time, it's easy to look at him now after the disappointing 2013 season he had and say he's got no value or very little value, but at the time he was viewed as the CF o' da future.
  17. Here we go again with this trade, why bring back bad memories! Seriously though, I remember so many posters ridiculing Mets' fans for saying D'Arnaud had to be included. I think we were all expecting Arencibia, Gose + as the package. When it became apparent D'Arnaud, Syndergaard + was the package, so many went apeshit. I said all along, I wouldn't have done D'Arnaud straight up for Dickey. Anyway...too late now.
  18. I'd take into consideration Rasmus's hamstring and if it would help that he DH for a few games, I'd keep Gose up in CF and DH Rasmus.
  19. Not relevant but, what the heck, Marcus Stroman so far tonight: IP: 4 H: 4 ER: 0 BB: 0 SO: 8
  20. This is what I was thinking. Maybe DH Rasmus to limit his running in Cleveland. With Reyes back, it should help to mitigate the offensive loss although who knows how long it'll take him to get going.
  21. Almost every AL East team is f***ed by injuries to an extent. As long as they're not out too long, the team can cope with 1 or 2 regulars out of the lineup for a few games. I say play Gose tomorrow in CF and give Rasmus another day off.
