  1. I don't think that's legit criticism. McGowan got sick early in ST and missed 10 or so days, that set him back in terms of being stretched out. McGowan said he prepared in the off season as if he'd be a starter because the team would give him a chance as such. Maybe they shouldn't have given him a starting spot, but that's not the argument he's making.
  2. For sure, I didn't mean to mention Boyd as a rotation option this year, it's just that he was a 6th round pick and Nolin was a low pick as well. And they're both lefties, lol.
  3. How has the team screwed around with McGowan this year? Unless he means they've wasted starts by giving them to him instead of Rodgers, Redmond or Happ? Anyway, it's Zaun so take it with a grain of salt.
  4. What about Boyd? Could be the next Nolin...or not. Nolin seems to throw a bit harder, but super scout King says Boyd has a nasty curve. I think it's safe to say we're all satisfied with having Stroman and Nolin as SP options. At least there's some youth coming along.
  5. I think this isn't entirely fair. They planned on having Happ as the 5th starter and were high on Hutchison since ST began. Happ s*** the bed and while that's not a huge surprise, Hutchison earned his starting spot. I'm more disappointed in Dickey than anyone else. McGowan/Redmond/Rodgers/Happ need to pitch like #5 starters.
  6. I think someone will take Rodgers, Redmond or Happ, I just don't think they want to give up anything of value for any of them since they know AA cornered himself.
  7. I suspect they'll call up Kawasaki. At least he can draw a walk and dance.
  8. If the offense stinks, for whatever reason, we know you are one of those who jinxed it and there have been a few.
  9. Who will get DFA'ed though? I imagine McGowan would go back to the pen, 5 long relievers?
  10. He does look ready and the stats back it up. I just wanted to play it safe as he hadn't pitched past AA yet. I guess one month was enough. It'll certainly be exciting to watch him every 5th day....assuming they don't demote him if he gas-cans in his debut a la Nolin.
  11. Not sure how to feel about this. I wanted Stroman to get 2 months at AAA. Heck I even wanted Hutchison to get 2 months in AAA. Maybe Nolin after the A-S break. On the other hand, it would be exciting to have both Stroman and Hutchison at the MLB level.
  12. I know, but they may mean something to those in charge. Plus, they may want to just give him an off day even though they had one last Monday and have another one this Monday.
  13. I think it has something to do with EE's numbers vs Buchholz.
  14. For sure, had he done it before yesterday's game or before Thursday's game it would've been different. So yes, SERENITY NOW....INSANITY LATER!!!
  15. I picked Rasmus and posted the updated picks, but someone else posted a few minutes later without my pick. Anyway...
  16. I'm ok with giving EE a day off, gotta use that bench, it's not Gibbons fault it stinks.
  17. It would certainly give them a better chance, but AA would open himself to more questioning because everyone knew 2B was a need, including AA himself, yet didn't pursue any FA 2B. AA also mentioned the bench as needing improvement yet didn't address it. Drew would definitely need some minor league games to get ready. At the end of the day, this won't happen partly because Beeston doesn't want to deal with Boras.
  18. That's the concern for me though, that they make decisions based on short-term gains or losses and not based on what's best for the franchise long-term. It's the same concern I have with making the trades they made after a disappointing 2012 season. Did they give up on rebuilding the franchise because of the way the 2012 season ended and wanted to reenergize/rehype the fanbase? If they fire AA, I hope it's because of bad baseball moves, not because of dropping attendance. I certainly hope they tell Beeston to retire first though 'cause he's likely to hire a worse GM.
  19. Reyes (6) - jaysguy34,o2cui2i, aselvana Melky (4) - orgfiller, JaysAllMighty Bautista (2) - FrenchSoup, flafson, Spanky99, G-Snarls, fatcowxlive Edwin (4)- King, Dylan, GD, JFaS, Glock Francisco (4) - angrioter, Jonn, jays4life19 Navarro (8) - Rasmus (4) - bluejays0988, ElNik2013 Lawrie (4) - NorthOf49, Deadpool Goins (14) - baseballsss Thole (16)- Sierra (14) - Diaz (16) - Next person to make a pick copy and paste this list and add your pick.
  20. And Lind and Rasmus and Lawrie...s***, that's 7 of 9 that aren't slouches. Problem is, they have been either slouches or injured so far this year and usually that's the way it works out for most teams. Except the Red Sox last year of course.
  21. Game 1/3? Otherwise, good job. This looks like another loss as Buchholz owns Jays hitters and Red Sox hitters own Morrow.
  22. I suspect AA realizes he got screwed badly over the last 18 months and is gun-shy. Problem is, the team is stuck in the middle. I will say this, I hope he walks the plank and doesn't mortgage any more of the farm to save his behind.
  23. So Bautista has been picked off at 2B twice and yesterday was caught stealing 3b, just terrible.
