  1. If they had QO'ed JJ, that would've been it for the off season. And yes, it would've been nice to have signed Santana, but they did try and by all reports had an agreement in place. I believe even Santana said he was getting ready to sign with Toronto until Medlen got hurt and the Braves called. He clearly preferred to go to the National League if he had the chance, not unlike JJ.
  2. Let's face it, if they had QO'ed JJ and he was injured right now, some would be blasting the FO for bringing him back at 14M with his injury history and the way he performed last year even with the bad luck. It is what it is, some good luck is welcome, take it and move on.
  3. I don't know, Hutchison makes minimum salary. McGowan makes 1M and Morrow had a contract already, not sure what the point is. Reyes and Bautista had contracts already and are integral parts of the team. Let's just say they dodged a bullet. Better lucky than good, ask the Red Sox last year.
  4. I don't think they're ready to risk losing Sierra yet. I really think/hope they're trying to trade Happ, Rogers or Redmond for a RHH or 2B. Unless I'm wrong, I see them taking advantage of Wagner's option even though they probably think Wagner belongs in MLB.
  5. Edit: Forgot they had 8 relievers atm, so it'll be Wagner unless AA is ready to risk losing one of Happ, Rogers or Redmond.
  6. Goins. Kawasaki and Diaz at 2B would seem like the least terrible option. It'll probably be Kawasaki though.
  7. So apparently, Lind left the game because of lower back pain: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140415&content_id=72165884&notebook_id=72203414&vkey=notebook_tor&c_id=tor
  8. He wouldn't have signed with the Jays at that price...or at any price for that matter. Let's just praise the Greek for not resigning him and hope they based the decision on his medicals.
  9. They also have a vesting option that kicks in if he makes fewer than 7 starts in 2014. I don't remember how much it's for. This does tell you how bad the market was for him.
  10. Happ could be a good fit for the Padres, Happ for the camo unis?
  11. Good win. Gibby made a good move bringing in Loup after Morrow when conventional lack of wisdom says he should've brought in his long reliever.
  12. Morrow was wild and threw 98 pitches over his 3.2 IP. He's trying to find his mojo.
  13. Remember, Santos last pitched on Friday against the O's, I think he warmed up on Saturday, but they may have a game cancelled in the next 2. He had already warmed up so use him I say.
  14. I think Rasmus has found it and Lawrie is a work in progress, but he's getting there.
  15. Because he grabbed the groin area on the bench, I saw it live.
  16. I saw Lind grabbing his leg or groin area sitting on the bench after scoring.
  17. You've gotta love these AB's by Kawasaki. So many guys make it to 3-2, but don't know how to foul off pitches to stay alive, Kawasaki fouls off tough pitches and at least makes the pitcher work harder.
  18. Good job by Gibbons bringing in Loup after Morrow to stop the bleeding even though most of us expected Happ or Redmond.
  19. Morrow should be out of this game, too many pitches in 3+ innings.
