  1. Too bad Lincoln sucked for the Phillies, had he done well for them, Amaro Jr. might be calling AA for Wagner.
  2. I feel bad for Izturis, seems like a decent guy and was off to a good start and looking like he would fulfill his role as a back up infielder. I guess it'll be a 3-headed monster now at 2B. At least they'll play solid defense at 2B which couldn't be said last year.
  3. Several posters did. I fully admitted that I leaned towards qualifying him and was glad I was proven wrong. Just for full disclosure. I've also admitted I picked the team to win between 86-92 wins last season, so what the heck do I know.
  4. I know, It's just that so many posters think that only the Jays are a couple of injuries away from being exposed.
  5. How will JPA's famous GF feel about dating a AAA player when she thought she was dating a #top10C?
  6. It's also a shorter throw to 3rd and people are forgetting that's a mistake by Ellsbury, he was already in scoring position, if you go tag up, you have to make it. It's no different than stealing third with 2 outs.
  7. Is it just me or does the Red Sox lineup lack depth without Pedroia and Victorino? Funny what a couple of injuries to regulars can do to a lineup.
  8. On a somewhat related note, JJ's injury is apparently not getting any better and may keep him out longer than initially thought. There were some who ridiculed the Jays for not qualifying him and how they wouldn't be surprised if JJ pitched better than all Jays starters. But anyway, it's the way sports forums work, one can say whatever one wants with no accountability.
  9. Oh, but some posters here, and well respected ones, have said signing Romero to that contract was a bad move by AA. It goes both ways. Some of the regulars here picked the team to contend last year only to then blast the GM for putting it together when things went sour. It's certainly early to call Jimenez a bust, he did struggle early last year before turning it around. However, the stuff he showed today wasn't very impressive.
  10. No way, only the Jays have crappy backups.
  11. I think they should play it safe and rest him in Minny at least.
  12. At least he said "at some point". Happ should certainly not be given a rotation spot unless McGowan struggles for a few starts or in case of injury. I have to say though, given the uncertainty in the SR with Morrow and Hutchison coming back from injury, I can sort of understand trying to hold on to the depth, but it's overdue to move on and address the bench.
  13. I'm watching on RDS here in the MTL, but it's certainly not on either TSN or TSN2. I think TSN2 has Monday Night Baseball tomorrow (obviously).
  14. They're redundant in a way, but Rogers is cheaper and accepts his role without a problem whereas Happ thinks he's a good MLB starter. I was joking, by the way, when I said 'my sources'.
  15. We'll have to wait on those tests on Pedroia, but if he is out for an extended period, Boras may have a fit for Drew.
  16. That's what I think as well, but you never know with AA and his "promises". Remember, Happ said he had been told early in ST that he was part of the starting rotation and he had not been told otherwise.
  17. Can't tell you. Trust me, it's safer for you if I don't tell you, let's leave it at that.
  18. Especially with the injuries going on, but who the heck knows, AA might be reluctant to admit defeat by trading either of them for a very underwhelming return.
  19. Unless I'm misremembering again, AA said Happ would come back as a starter? I think that was before McGowan threw those 6+ shut out innings, but still, this guy hasn't yet learned to keep his mouth shut. Anyway, I don't know what they'll do but my sources tell me Happ is not that well liked in the club house. Seriously though, I don't think it would sit well with several players to pull McGowan or Hutchison out of the rotation. Who knows, I expected a trade during ST to clear the roster crunch, but no cigar.
  20. Hamstrings are iffy, we'll see how he feels tomorrow.
  21. On the other hand, so is the Orioles' offense. Plus, Buehrle might be due for a stinker...let's hope they win 8-7 or something like that.
  22. That was changed, EE is playing 1b and Lind DH. I think it's the right move because if Gibbons pinch-hits for Lind later on in the game, he doesn't have to worry about Sierra or Kratz playing 1b.
  23. Speaking of defense, Bautista's arm saved a run in each of the last 2 games, or his arm's rep to be more precise.
