    It did seem odd, but some pointed out how Gibby didn't get a chance to hire his own guys when he was hired. This one could be on Gibby as well as the bullpen management this year. I just don't get why managers think that it's ok to bring in your high leverage relievers to keep the other team from adding to their lead and not ok to bring them in early in games to prevent the other team from tying the score or taking the lead.

    Forgot Cabrera in the 8th also got ahead in the count 2-0 swung and missed on a low inner-half fastball and popped up a fastball right in the middle.

    The team also keeps missing meatballs, especially Lawrie and Rasmus. Lawrie in the 8th fouled off 2 fastballs right in the middle. Rasmus in the 9th tried to bunt on a hittable pitch. EE hit that high fastball hard, but that's not a pitch you can really drive.

    Always a hit away from tying a game it seems it happened against the Yankees, Indians, Orioles and today. Morrow was bad today, but Gibbons didn't help matters. Also, was it just me or was Diaz not gonna swing in that situation after the GIDP against the O's mid-week? Pay attention AA, those are your failures staring you in the face, whether it's the 2B or a better bench. Boy do I miss Izturis, lol.

    Nolin so far today: 4IP, 1H, 0ER, 4BB, 3K. Looks like a wild day for the Blue Jays.

    Nolin should be next on the depth chart since they don't seem confident in Happ even with his new arm angle and what not.

    And Nolin is pitching today, Stroman and Nolin for McGowan and Morrow?

    So both Cecil and Loup used down by 4. Gotta love the way this team is run.

    Ideally, you bring in one of your high-leverage relievers. Since this is not an option managers usually consider, I would've gone to Happ, but a batter earlier. Yes, Happ may have imploded, but he's a better option than Jenkins, not that this says much about him. To be clear, I'm not a Happ fan at all, but I don't get bringing in Jenkins into that situation. To make matters worse, Gibbons just brought in Loup to get out of a jam down by 4. He also let Loup meltdown in Cleveland instead of bringing in Cecil to try to protect the 4-2 lead last Sunday only to bring in Cecil to try and keep them down by only 1 or 2, can't remember. Anyway...

    Agreed. Thing is, at least bring in Happ and not some guy that just got called up from Buffalo. And looky now, Aaron Loup is coming into the game down by 4.

    Quite a few people were at least a bit surprised that Mottola was fired and not Walker. It seems it was Gibbons decision. Who knows, they also blamed Walton (?) in 2012 for the young pitchers getting hurt. Who knows, but at least we'll get to watch the StrowShow soon.

    If I was the president or owner, I wouldn't allow AA to trade or pay what it would take to land a #1. He's already paid the price for a #1, he just happened to screw it up by acquiring the wrong #1 (Dickey). I'd rather fire him than let him misspend anymore re$ources. He made his bed, he needs to lie in it.

    Maybe Gibbons should learn a thing or 2 about longmen in high-leverage situations.

    I thought that's what they should've done against the O's when McGowan blew up so I don't expect Gibbons do that smartest thing anymore. However, at least bring in your lefty long reliever.

    Yes Morrow was garbage, but how do you not bring in Happ in that situation? Anyway....

    Why not Happ? I guess Gibbons really doesn't like Happ.

    He's out of options though. Maybe they should've piggybacked him with Redmond and set a pitch limit. However, it seems to me like Gibbons didn't know McGowan was feeling fatigued at 65 pitches. Gibbons said he was a little bit bothered by McGowan's admission. This suggests to me that McGowan didn't tell Walker and/or Gibbons about this. On the other hand, maybe Walker should've noticed something.
