  1. Could someone check how many times Janssen was asked to record a 5-out save last year? I just don't get why Gibbons uses Santos this way, he's not a guy you want for more than an inning.
  2. Stroman was awesome and Norris was pretty good tonight.
  3. I don't get why Gibbons thinks Santos is Mariano Rivera.
  4. At least Stroman is more likely to be called up after this meltdown as AA and Biggy will likely want to get McGowan into short-relief. What a joke.
  5. So they've weakened their short-relief options in favor of long-relief ones and this is the result.
  6. I think they're blaming him for trying to outrun Dyson instead of just throwing the ball to EE.
  7. I don't see anyone running away with the division in the East. Cobb will be back in June probably. I think they can make a push later on as long as they stay around .500.
  8. I heard he's a Sumo Wrestler now.
  9. I just don't get why they wouldn't call up Kawasaki when he's already on the 40-man. At least it's not official yet.
  10. I hadn't noticed Ryan Schimpf was promoted to Buffalo. Kevin Pillar went 4-4 today with 2 BB (probably his first 2 BB, lol). Mastroianni went 3-6. Gose 2-5 with a BB. Kratz went 3-4 with a BB.
  11. If the Red Sox didn't sweep the Jays with Buehrle, Morrow and Dickey starting for the Jays, they ain't sweeping the Rays.
  12. Good to see Boyd getting promoted to AA, he certainly earned it and it'll be interesting to see how he does against players closer to his age. Pompey's getting some well-deserved love as well. If he could make it to AA this year, that would be very good. I'm hoping Dwight Smith Jr does get a shot as a 2B as he's been good as well. Both Pompey and DSJ draw walks and use their speed. Davis, on the other hand, is in a big funk at Lansing.
  13. It had better be Kawasaki. They really should've done this 10 days ago, but I don't want to insult anyone today.
  14. I think they're now at -1 in run differential after today's win. Basically, a .500 club with some up and downside.
  15. Sure, but runners have been getting great jumps. Speaking of base stealing, I just saw that Hamilton got caught stealing for the 4th time today and was quite surprised.
  16. I was watching on TV when he was stealing on Cabrera's bloop in the 8th and slid into 2nd, got up when he realized Cabrera hit a single and sprinted to 3rd and slid again. I thought he may have gotten hurt again the way he stayed bending down for a bit. He's probably apprehensive about accelerating although he did accelerate twice on that play in the 8th. All this to say that I do agree he looks uncomfortable, but as I said, it may just be that he's not pushing it yet. Let's cross our fingers...
  17. The improvement is quite noticeable. They do need to do a better job of holding runners, but that's on the pitchers.
  18. On #2, do you mean running or at the plate? If it's at the plate, I think he's swinging at too many balls right now, but he did work 2 walks yesterday including a really good at bat against Capuano. He's also going through ST basically.
  19. Good freakin' win, boy did they need this. Third place baby...pennant race!
  20. Lester or Masterson. Let toMorrow walk and that's $10M right there.
  21. So Dickey's pitching on his own bobblehead day. Seems like they moved up his start against the Astros so he could pitch today.
  22. It's concerning that he's been missing or not swinging at fastballs right in the middle. It happened yesterday in the 8th where he missed 2 of them before grounding into a FC.
