  1. Now if only we can develop (and hang on to) some good players. The lower minors are looking good, so here's hoping at least a few pan out.
  2. Appreciate the share. I believe in Lawrie. He may not end up with the power we all thought he might have, but, with that great defense, I'll take whatever he contributes with the bat.
  3. Scenario: Lind gets bought out by Jays Rays sign Lind on the cheap (say, 2 years: $9MM) Lind puts up 4 WAR seasons in both years Come on, you just know it will happen.
  4. Whoa. The pop time was absurd. How the f*** did he get there?
  5. While it's great that they're apparently going to try to remedy the injury situation, lol at the excuses with this organisation. Honestly, it wasn't the injuries that caused this team to fall into the basement of the division - it was that the team just isn't good enough. Even with complete health (which wouldn't happen anyway), this was an 80-85 win roster at best. Are the injuries a cause for concern, though? Yes.
  6. Agreed. Firing Gibby and the subsequent managerial search would just take the organisation back another step, and would likely impede on improving the roster.
  7. I'm just an onlooker, and found your post(s) to be undeservedly self-fellating, so I couldn't resist myself to comment. That's all.
  8. Absolutely boner-inducing. Honestly, it's a shame that AA tarnished his reputation. Things looked so promising after the first two or three seasons. And then, he inexplicably went all-in and suddenly fell in love with (and over-valued) relievers, despite their year-to-year volatility. If only he'd stuck with HIS plan another season or two... we could be looking at a completely different scenario right now. I digress, he's worn out his welcome here and does need to go - you're right. It will likely take a few seasons to repair what he lost. People have lost their jobs for less. Beeston was always useless. He should be nowhere near this team - I vote Cuba, where he can live out his remaining days fishing and smoking all the cigars he wants, whilst doing nothing Jays-related.
  9. Lol. You finished it? Okay. "Sure." I wouldn't be giving yourself so much credit, boy.
  10. Third is definitely within reach, and I feel like second shouldn't even be ruled out entirely (however unlikely it may be) if Miami goes on a mini-run and the Jays continue to tank. I'm drooling over the idea of getting a top-5 pick.

Eugene Melnyk is both crazy and delusional. Borderline insane, IMO. The whole Matt Cooke incident "investigation" last season was proof enough for me.
  12. I remember it vividly. It was Mike Puma, who broke the news on Twitter (in tidbits). I, along with thousands of others, followed him that day in hopes that he was just pulling ******** out of his ass. Unfortunately, he was right about the pieces going back to the Mets. That was a terrible time, and the worst is yet to come.
  13. Norris, so far: 4 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 SO, 7-0 GO-FO
  14. Get over yourself. Nobody cares.
  15. Go f*** yourself. What kind of ******** criteria is this anyway? Don't get me wrong, this poll is just as dumb as all of the other ones you've ever done, but if you're going to do it, at least do it right: include ALL of the players in the history of the majors, don't use some limited criteria of 1920-1970. What's the point?
  16. Damn. Thanks.
  17. How is Ty Cobb not on this list?
  18. Do you know of video of where the ump got drilled in the throat by a pitch that Chris Stewart "missed" with the glove? I didn't see it, only heard about it.
  19. I just want to say to Dylan that you've done a great job with this contest all season long. It's actually added something fun to an otherwise lost season. Hat tip to you, sir.
  20. We do not.
  21. This could be very awesome.
  22. So Chris Davis is pretty good.
  23. Click 'Edit Post', and then 'Go Advanced'. You can change the title there.
  24. Honestly, yes, I agree with you, but the change would render the All-Star game completely pointless (even though it is), and that's something that Selig would never let happen.
  25. Oh I know that. Don't get me wrong. I'm just saying THIS draft would've been that much more successful. The Jays still did pretty well despite throwing away their first round pick.
