    A contract like that allows little to no room for potential value. If Jimenez gets even 17 per, he has to put up about 2.5 WAR to be worth his contract, yes? I hope AA stays far away at that cost.

    Santana would be an interesting reclamation project at this point, especially on a minor league deal. There's really nothing to lose, and there's an outside shot that he has another solid year left in him. On a side note, I'd welcome Grady Sizemore with open arms on a similar deal, or another low-risk deal of the same nature - incentive-laden, low-base one year major league deal (with a possible option year at the end).
