  1. The team isn't really in a position to be choosy. They have no 3B and the only 3+ win option in FA probably costs 150M. They need an everyday OF, and the only 3+ win (maybe) option probably costs 200M. Swapping Kikuchi for Polanco gives them a 2-3 win option at 3B at 10.5M this year with a team option for 2025. Salary is basically a wash. Only instead of having to target Chapman, they move to a market that includes Yamamoto, Imanaga, Snell, Montgomery, Stroman, Paxton, Montas etc... Even if it's just Paxton they sign, it's Polanco (1/10.5 + 12M team option for 2025) Paxton (1/10?) vs. Chapman (6/150?) Kikichi (1/12) For basically the same projected 2024 WAR
  2. Polanco is good and the team doesn't have a 3B
  3. Disaster waiting to happen. The Cubs have a pile of money to spend, holes at the two positions Bellinger plays, and just had him for an entire session. I don’t want to be the team outbidding them for him.
  4. They’re in a tough spot. They only have 2 MLB outfielders, and the only guy on the market clearly better than Gurriel (probably) is a walking landmine who might get 200M.
  5. Where are you seeing this?
  6. I kind of thought he’d be back in Toronto on a deal something like that.
  7. Yup. I'd happily roster him in DDL or BORED
  8. Starting to think Bauer is never coming back. If it happens, it's probably going to be this offseason, but there' been radio silence on his market.
  9. He's a legitimate moron "And in October, Franco posted and then quickly took down a link to a song, Cambio, by Puerto Rican rappers Ozuna and Anuel AA. The lyrics translated from Spanish, referenced “so many friends that I helped, so many girls that I trusted, they were all Judas, you saw it” and also “Everyone is looking for money.”"
  10. I kind of like what the Royals have cooking honestly. Ragans is a stud, and now has 3-4 solid guys behind him in the rotation. Witt, Perez, Pasquantino are all really fun. Some upside with Melendez, Garcia, and Isbel.
  11. Finally, Kikuchi has broken his silence
  12. Exactly the same terms that the poverty Padres declined
  13. Kershaw just said he feels great and will be back at midseason
  14. Missed that Castillo Kirby Snell Gilbert Miller Woo Hancock Ray (midseason) Would just be an embarrassment of riches
  15. They're honestly low-key really solid additions
  16. Toronto should be in on him IMO. A WAR is a WAR, and there's nothing wrong with stacking the rotation if a big bat isn't available. It would also free them up to trade another arm for the bat they're looking for.
  17. What Quero? Either way the Kirk side
  18. Agreed JDM feels like exactly what the team needs: a monster power bat in the middle of the lineup. He also might be more valuable than the WARs suggest, if you believe in the DH penalty.
  19. Deluca is going to be annoyingly good for TB
  20. Reports of jays being interested in JDM. He’d be a great addition.
  21. I agree but I don't think they'd include Burnes, due to optics. Adames would be great though. Or even prospect capital.
  22. Taking on the 5/136.5 left that Yelich is owed might be the best way to add someone with 4-win upside. We'd get a legit asset or two for doing it.
