    Pretty much exactly what we all could have expected. Played in 305 games (72% of the team's games), racked up 6.7 fWAR, and was generally pretty exciting, especially in 2013. All in all, above-average play from short for ~40 million over 2.5 years at ~$6M/ WAR. If he were a free agent signing and not a trade acquisition I think people would have loved him.

    Bautista 4/80 or 5/100. Not sure on Edwin. If he stays in the 110-120 wRC+ range probably like 2/30. V-Mart's deal sets the market for Bautista.

    Right. Forgot about that. They also made a killing on the Holliday trade. And I guess they traded Fowler for Lyles. Very few big deals over the years though. They really keep to themselves.

    If Harvey were being offered for Tulo he'd be a met right now.

    I was trying to think back on big trades the Rockies have made and realized that they don't really ever make any. What a weird org.

    It will be very interesting to see what happens with Reyes. If they can even dump him for nothing, backing out of the Tulo contract and picking up Hoffman, Castro, and Tinoco is a pretty safe move for a team going nowhere in the near future. I imagine they might eat cash to move him though.

    I've never called it a bad deal. I just don't think it's the slam dunk win a lot of people seem to think it is.

    Yeah. Colorado obviously isn't buying Tulo's zips projections. And they're more familiar than anyone with his medical status.

    I wouldn't be comfortable paying Tulo much more than 5/100 based on reservations about his health and how that is affecting and will continue to affect his performance. So I see the deal as two parts: Taking on Tulo's contract Paying Hoffman, Castro, and the other guy to get rid of Reyes. I don't have a strong opinion either way.

    It might be very similar. Is Tulo a 5-win monster or injury prone 2-3 win guy with a bad hip?

    It's obvious that the Rockies don't view Tulo as an above-average player on the remainder of his contract, and were pleased to rid themselves of the commitment. Are they right? We'll know in 2-3 years.

    I don't think it's as simple as just plugging in the ZiPS projections and calling Tulo a $60 million asset. Projections are agnostic of his injury history and the Rockies are in a better position than any other team to project how his hip will effect his performance long term. He certainly hasn't been himself this year. If they flip Reyes off for a decent prospect, I think this ends up pretty good for Colorado.

    You're probably right. I've let his mishandling cloud my opinion of him. Decent chance he puts himself back on the map if allowed to start.
