Any rebuilding team intrigued enough by Cody Andersons AAA stats to trade a rosterable old starter for him.

I think the idea is that they don't want an absolute black hole hitting in front of their best hitters. Hitting a decent guy 9th sets the table for the best hitters instead of being an automatic out, and if the pitcher comes up in a big spot you pinch hit for him.

How many people is that thing designed to feed anyway? My first thought was that it's a family meal, but cutting through the cheese and fried onions to separate it wouldn't be feasible. Would one person really eat two feet of that in one sitting?

At least Papelbon had leverage. He earned the right to veto a trade for whatever reason he wanted. MLB needs to revamp the arb process though. Relievers complaining about roles is silly.

The team wasn't trading for 2010-2012 Reyes. They were trading for slightly past his prime Reyes. The Reyes they got averaged about 3.4 fWAR/150 in his age 30-32 seasons, and missed a bit more time to injury than we would have liked. That's literally exactly what anyone would have reasonably expected from him.
