Sanchez as never been effective as a starter, not an A, AA, AAA, or the majors. He has shown to be an effective major league reliever. It probably has something to do with only having one reliable pitch. I think the SP ship has pretty much sailed at this point.

Yeah. Velo is still there, still getting swinging strikes, no injury issues. The results have just fallen off significantly.

I was calling a Samardzija an ace back in April, then his GB rate dropped by 10% and his K-rate dropped by 5%. What happened to him this year?

Really just SS and OF. A 3rd frontline starter to replace Peavy couldn't hurt either.

I have him plugged in at 3B next next year, but I figure he might be worth more to someone who needs him at SS for a playoff run this year before he loses the eligibility.
