  1. What the hell are you guys doing to get banned so often? I'm a Rays fan and have never been banned.
  2. Yeah, they've fallen off. I think they're a legitimately talented group though, and a ton of fun to watch. If ownership lets them get back to the 120-130M range that core could do a ton of damage long-term.
  3. I hope so. I have a big soft spot for them.
  4. What did Boxy do?
  5. Man Astros imploding in Seattle. I really want to see them in the playoffs
  6. R is awesome. The fact that it's free and open source means there are endless packages to be found online and you can use it to do pretty much anything. What sucks is that you'll use it through school, and then have to shift to SAS when you find a job because employers won't let you use R on their computers.
  7. Forgot to log in to your Dr. Dinger account?
  8. He's going to be a horse.
  9. IMO: - Splitting PPP is stupid - Adding points to G and A is really stupid - Adding FO could be fun - Adding nothing could also be fine
  10. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-al-cy-young-discussion/ Article on the topic. Author likes Sale > Keuchel > Price. Commenters no real consensus. Nobody dumn enough to suggest Carrasco.
  11. How is that negative?
  12. Yeah, he'll be non-tendered for sure.
  13. Holy f***, I shouldn't have purged my IL.
  14. The Rays will be back. Archer, Cobb, Smyly, Odorizzi is legit, and they have 5-6 guys in the conversation for the 5th spot. They also have Longoria, Kiermaier, Forsythe, and Souza to build around. If the rotation stays healthy they could get back to 90+ wins next year. Of course the issue with them is that everything has to go right. If a starter or three go down, or they can't fill a couple of lineup holes it will be another year a few games north or south of 0.500.
  15. Rumour has it that Oakland traded Donaldson in part because Beane thinks he's a dick.
  16. No, that's just your interpretation, which you're entitled to. Most people see it as being the pitcher who's contributions in 2015 were the most valuable. IP matters in that context.
  17. You're being disingenuous by talking about his career numbers. Obviously his skill set changed significantly last year. And why the f*** are you talking about projections and who you trust going forward?
  18. All else being equal (ERA, IP) I'd much prefer to look at xFIP than FIP to see who was really better. If you're going to look at DIPS, why not try to remove HR/FB luck from the equation?
  19. Yeah, pretty much. It's well documented that HR/FB is basically just luck over a sample of one season.
  20. I don't get it. Keuchel's xFIP is within a tenth of a run of either of theirs, and there are pretty good reasons to believe beating DIPS is a skill of his. He also has huge IP leads on either of them.
  21. Price has a 1-point lead in ERA-, Keuchel has a 13-point lead in xFIP-. Nobody should care about FIP. Keuchel also has a small edge in IP. Objectively, he's had the better year. If he wins 20 and the Astros make it I think it's his.
  22. Keuchel has been doing it all year too though. Houston is currently in a WC spot and without him they're well under 0.500 and have been out of the race for a long time.
  23. Anyone have a top-100 prospect on the table for super elite 35 hold guy Sergio Romo?
  24. I dunno, a lineup with Correa, Gomez, Altuve and Springer is capable of winning a 7-game series against anyone. Especially if Dallas Keuchel starts 2-3 of them.
