If he's worth 3 wins at 8M/win on a 13M contract that's still like 11M in surplus value, plus the comp pick. I'd do it.

It seems that propriety defensive metrics and probably conversations with other teams have led them to believe he's a lot better than UZR and DRS credit him for being. He might be Simmons good. -

IMO Colabello is pretty much worthless on the market. 32-year old 1B with a 110 wRC+ who can't run and is below average defensively. -
Not really. If you're trading an elite player like Carrasco you're not going to significantly water down your return to save $17M or whatever.
