The point is to give the players enough options that they feel comfortable with whoever they choose to talk to. Some won't use the program. Others will.

I love this narrative that AA just worked so much gosh darn harder than everyone else that he burnt out. Like his AGMs were putting in 35-hour weeks and he was pulling all nighters on the reg.

Same. I've progressively lost interest until this year the only game I've watched was Can-US on Boxing Day. I went from devoting 100% of my sports time/interest to hockey to 100% baseball.

My point was that complaining that the team is (ostensibly) weaker than some competitors is silly, because they're better at other positions, and the 25 (or 40) man roster is what actually matters. And if you're going to be weaker somewhere on paper in January, it should probably be the bullpen.

A lot of pen arms that are either out of options (Delabar, Leon, Jenkins) or have to be offered back to their previous team if they aren't retained on the MLB roster (Biagini). I wonder how many of the four are actually retained. Jenkins probably clears waivers without issue.
