Won't happen as long as Dickey is here, but yeah, he's not an MLB player. I don't buy the narrative that none of the many serviceable backup catchers available every offseason are capable of catching a knuckleball.
I'm gonna be a wet blanket here, but this forum does that all the time. Every sack of s*** AAAA hack who comes up and hits a few homers might be the next Edwin/Bautista. Every stuff guy with no command is the next Carpenter/Halladay. Every GB control guy with no Ks is the next Halladay.
I don't think anyone thinks this is a stuff issue. He should and most likely will be a 7/2 K/BB guy with elite GB rates. He just needs to make adjustments, because the current game plan isn't working.
He's thrown 28 innings with 15 strikeouts and a 6.6 swinging strike %. Nobody is losing their minds, but the results matter a bit, and they've been poor.
