I'm sure he was. But he was always a marginal player. Not many people would have expected him to last the season, even back March. The media needs to stop pretending that this matters to anyone but Colabello and his friends on the team.
Not really. Until now he's been a serviceable 2-3 win starter, and he looked this bad at the start of last season. The last thing the team wants is to pay him $8M to provide serviceable innings for another team.
