    You can say that about the thousands of replacement-level players playing in the high minors and on MLB benches. It's ridiculous to couch every statement about a bad player because a fraction of a single percentage of them will figure things out and become stars. Paredes is awful.

    Why does versatility matter when you're bad at all the things you can (notionally) do? - 80 wRC+ hitter (why is the media acting like he can hit?) - disastrous 2B defender - disastrous 3B defender - disastrous OF defender - has never played any other position The best you can say is that he's probably an average baserunner, but there's a reason why he's at -1.2 fWAR in his career: he doesn't have any useful MLB skills.
