  1. Betances has 44 strikeouts in 22.1 innings.
  2. f***, Moustakas done for the year. Save me, Martin Prado.
  3. This doesn't bother me. Nobody would have kept him past the cut this year, and being a catcher, he'll be back on the scrap heap in short order.
  4. So would it be funny if Appel is the next Arrieta/Carrasco, or has Boxy endured enough pain?
  5. I was thinking this the other day. It almost always ends up being 1000 words about SSS noise. I guess guys can't pump out 5 articles a week without most of it being garbage.
  6. He's so impossibly bad. 7.98 K/9, 4.70 BB/9 and 4.46 ERA in AAA. Does he finally fall off top-100 lists when the midseason ones are released? Roto note for his most recent start lol: Appel failed to make it out of the first inning during his start Sunday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. His fastball was topping out at 89 mph, down from his typical 94-95 mph velocity in the early innings, Tom Housenick of the Allentown Morning Call reports. (5/25/2016)
  7. Donaldson Bautista EE Estrada Happ Dickey Smoak
  8. I bench that sack of s*** Lind for one of the first times this season, and he hits homers in his first 2 ABs. I hate fantasy baseball.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about issues like this. Problem: minorities being held out of the analytics community Not a problem: minorities being less interested than white people in participating in the analytics community There's no evidence whatsoever to suggest that the latter isn't what's happening.

    NBA Thread

Cameron brought up the "problem" of white prevalence in the analytics community several times today in his chat. I don't really understand why it's considered a problem. I don't think there's a systematic bias forcing minorities out; for whatever reason, they just haven't been interested in participating in this particular niche. Does it really matter?
  11. I've done a complete 180 on Estrada. He's so fun to watch work.
  12. You are a shockingly bad poster.
  13. Hopefully just a couple more days of Goins!
  14. I regret not putting in a claim.
  15. I wonder how Anemic0ffense is doing.
  16. Saunders is a legit QO candidate if he keeps it up.
  17. I feel like you could get Smoak right now on a 2/10 guarantee, and I'd probably do it.
  18. I don't think we can expect a bounce back big enough to give him actual trade value though. 2.7 fWAR over 719 PA since the surgery, and the K-rate is up 3% this year after going up 6% last year. If, say, the team is a few games under 0.500 at the deadline and the Mets or Yankees indicate that they're willing to take on the contract, I think you have to try to make it happen. If he continues at a ~2-win pace, there's no way we'd want the team to give him 4/80 as a free agent going into 2017, so I don't see why we wouldn't want them to shed the deal if they're not a WS contender.
  19. He has a NTC, but I'm sure he'd be amenable to being moved to certain approved teams. The road to him having actual value is a long one, but it would be nice if he could bring the numbers to a place where his entire contract could be moved for a fringe minor leaguer or something.
  20. If there is a sell, the biggest potential move would be getting rid of Tulo. I don't imagine anyone would take on Martin's 3/60, but there might be a window to give away Tulo's 4/78.
  21. What a steep decline for Jacoby. He was amazing last season, one of the best hitting coaches in recent memory. Now he's terrible. Weird.
