I mean you guys have to be a bit disappointed that your super-awesome new front office has overpaid for a goalie and targeted plugs like Matt Martin and Kris Russell in free agency, right?
Paying a 1st and 2nd for the privilege of locking an average goalie up for 5/25 isn't getting a starting goalie for basically nothing. And yes, signing a bad player for 4/10 is a bad move.
But anyway, now that that's out of my system, can we all agree that the Oilers of the last decade might be the most embarrassing franchise in NHL history?
Ugh, now all the leafs fans are going to claim they didn't want him anyway. Like they thought he was going to sign for 7m a year or something when they were penciling him into their lineup for the last three years.
ISO isn't a category. I think he can do similar things to pre-2016 Heyward and Yelich. It's not sexy, but it is useful, especially in a good park and lineup.
