I doubt they'd demote them. It would probably start with 3 innings/50 pitches out of the pen one game, then a couple of starts where they go 5 innings/70-80 pitches.

Poor guy. I believe that he would never knowingly take a banned substance. He should have his dog food tested.

I've never really loved his profile. I do imagine the K-rate settles somewhere in the 20-25% range. Really, I've been encouraged about his ability to defend at short. There's a path to him being pretty useful if he sticks at the position, much less so if he moves to CF.

So it looks like Tim Anderson can handle short at a high enough level that he should stay there long-term, and he hits the ball a fair bit harder than the Alcides Escobars and Elvis Andruses of the world. It would be nice if he could walk once in a blue moon though.

Most likely they were just doing a good thing for LeBlanc. 32-year old journeyman without a ton of MLB time who pitched well for them in AAA. Why hold him down there if some other team wants to give him an MLB chance?

Rich Hill is a former top prospect who sits 90 from the left side, has a wipeout curveball that he commands in the zone, and had his career derailed by injuries. Wade LeBlanc is a junkballing 87 mph replacement level hack.

He sits 87 on his fastball and has been terrible in the majors. AAA is littered with 30+ year olds who dominate the younger competition but are replacement-level MLB talent.

It's like this: Mike Trout is the best dynasty asset in baseball. That's the default position. It takes a very long run of success to change that perception. There really isn't any reason to pretend that Trout might be inferior to someone who has a 130 wRC+ 250 PA into the season.
