  1. Will consider moving Freddie Freeman this offseason.
  2. Well, Ramos finally exploded. At least he waited until the end of the fantasy season to tear his ACL.
  3. Also, you didn't give up assets for Fielder. I drafted him, then dropped him after his retirement.
  4. Short answer: because we do this for fun, not as a business, and it's easy and painless to go at least some of the way towards compensating someone who tragically loses a huge part of their team.
  5. He's the obvious choice here in the DDL. I have no idea who else is worth considering for BORED.
  6. Maitan is owned here, right?
  7. I'm certainly not comfortable assuming that havok is a sexist who will ignore half the population.
  8. Regarding the Fernandez compensation for havok, spittin and I have decided to follow the DDL's lead. The proposal is as follows: - Havok can choose any two unowned players/prospects he wants. - At least one of these players must already be signed by an MLB team, but the other need not be. So guys like Otani, Thames, Gourriel, and projected 2017 draftees are in play. - Prospects owned by an MLB team will not count against his prospect limit until the 2017 MiLB draft cut down. - If he chooses an unowned prospect he/she will count against his prospect limit at the first cut down after their signing. - If either prospect is traded, they count against the other team's prospect limit immediately. If havok, or anyone else has a serious grievance with this, please make it known ASAP. I'm thinking that havoc has until Sunday, October 9th to make his selections, unless he absolutely can not choose by then.
  9. We have the three drafts archived on it, and it would be nice to have a league history page.
  10. Hey z3r0s, how can we convince you to add something like that to the LOD sheet?
  11. I think that's appropriate, but I also think thank that Fernandez's accomplishments should be recognized beyond just the fact the he was a player who died. Guys like Adenhart and Lidle were tragic, but they weren't Jose Fernandez.
  12. There's no reason to argue because it's a matter of opinion, but I'll say that for me there's a difference between someone who pitched like an all time great and then had their skills erode and someone who only ever pitched like an all time great, then died. We've only ever seen excellence from Fernandez. That isn't the case for Gooden or Prior or Lincecum. I've always been a big hall guy though.
  13. Was gonna PM spittin after the DDL made a decision.
  14. Yeah. Bombed the DDL and BORED and missed the LOD playoffs. 2015 was the year of havok though.
  15. Yeah I'm not sure why there's so much concern for their finances. They'll be a lot less rich than they would have been, but this is still a 20-something mother who is, at worst, a millionaire. His kid is still better off financially than 99% of kids.
  16. I think his bat will really have to be elite for teams to risk running a likely ace out there at bat enough for him to matter in a 20-team league. Most scouty types don't seem to think he's that level of bat.
  17. I was thinking about this the other day. I imagine he'll have two instances in yahoo, but it's far from given that his bat will play well enough to make this an issue.
  18. I'd vote for him. He performed like one of the best pitchers ever, and had the kind of personality that the game doesn't have nearly enough of. The HoF is about recognizing th greats, and in the games that he played, he was on that level. I don't care what might have happened if his career hadn't ended at 24, because the innings he did throw were HOF calibre. Also, the hall takes itself far too seriously if it can't consider including someone like this out of resepect.
  19. Does anyone else think that MLB should waive their 10-year HOF minimum for him? Second best starters ERA- of all time, and best FIP-.
  20. I think this should be handled on a case by case basis. And I don't think we should be judging the 'tragicness' of a death. Nobody wants to debate how tragic, say, Oscar Taveras' death was given that he was drunk and killed someone. And I think we have enough collective sense to handle these as they come. Nobody will expect compensation if a Doug Fister gets hit by lightning.
  21. How's the waiver draft looking this year? Letting Hurl add any unowned prospect and giving him #1 pick in the waiver draft seems appropriate. Would be Maitan and some MLB ready Azn guy probably?
  22. That's so crazy to me. Three guys in the prime of their life out enjoying themselves, and then the lights go out and they're gone without any idea what happened. Life is so fragile.
  23. I think Dinger has the best team in the league. He scares me the most next year.
