  1. FA market is OK for bats. IF they`re shopping for outfielders in the 1-2 win range, there are some options: Pearce, Moss, Thames?, Davis, Pagan, Jackson, Gomez, Trumbo. Some of those guys will project the same as Saunders and sign for a third of the price.
  2. Saudners
  3. What looked like a slam dunk earlier now looks like a real question: do you offer Saunders a QO, likely to be in the vicinity of $17M? He's been healthy this year, but has been below average, sitting at 1.4 fWAR thanks to truly awful OF defense. Given that a healthy Saunders looks like a 1-2 win player, and that he has a history of not being healthy, the odds are probably against him putting up the ~2 wins required to be worth the salary he'd get with a QO. I'm pretty sure I'd just let him walk.
  4. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/asdrubal-cabrera-as-daniel-murphy/ My man Ass Dribble getting some love.
  5. You can't drop this and not post em' up.
  6. Wow, savage. Does boxy have a response?
  7. How you handling this Red Sox AL East title?
  8. I have Lugo in BORED. Not sure what to make of him. He hasn't pitched that well, but he throws 95 and has the highest spin rate curve ball in baseball. I might keep him.
  9. Ugh, I'm mapping out my keepers... and my team is going to be very bad again.
  10. Does Fielder's kid play baseball? Might be a worthy gamble. Can Hurl take someone who isn't born yet? Trout's hypothetical son could pay off huge.
  11. The Tigers are scary. I'm sure they'll set up so Verlander goes, and he might be the best pitcher in the AL (again). RH heavy lineup is a nice matchup for Sanchez, but Cabrera, Kinsler, and the Martnez's is a lot of lumber.
  12. I'd say he's probably one of the most likely. If Gausman can't go, they should do this. Even if Gausman can go, they should tell him he has 4-5 innings and then the pen is taking over.
  13. Someone just brought this up in a FG chat, but the Orioles are probably a lot more dangerous if they turn the WC into a bullpen game. Something like: Bundy - 2-3 innings Givens - 1-2 innings Brach - 1-2 innings O'Day - 1-2 innings And then Britton 2 innings to close it out. That would be very, very tough.
  14. Sanchez vs. Verlander sounds like a whole lot of fun.
  15. He's hitting 0.207 with a 32% K-rate, and if he did make adjustments, pitchers have adjusted back, as he's running a wRC+ of 59 in September.
  16. I think that this Zunino thing will probably end with you being disappointed.
  17. He was really good for me in the second half. 27/53/12/33 with 317/459 in 205 ABs after I added him.
  18. I'm about 85% sure I'm cutting him in BORED.
  19. OF maybe? Fowler is fine, and Heyward will play, but their 3rd spot has been a revolving door Szczur/Almora/Contreras/Soler/Coghlan. It's been productive, but they'd probably like to consolidate that into one 3+ win player. I guess a good controllable starter would be nice too. Hammel, Lackey, and Arrieta are all in their last seasons of control in 2017, and probably none of them will be back. But yeah, these are luxuries, not necessities.
  20. They should probably just trade him to a team that needs a 1B or DH. They don't really need his C innings with Contreras and Montero around, and by all accounts he's not even good anyway. Maybe the bat really explodes if that's all he has to focus on.
  21. Yeah, me too. Will he even have C eligibility?
  22. Well this year Martin ranked 307 and Perez 483, and I believe Martin has been significantly more valuable each of the last 4 years. Perez's age is nice, but it only counts for so much when he's pretty fringy.
  23. I think he's less valuable than Martin, and clearly more valuable than McCann and Wieters. But that only makes him a fringe keeper for me. How many catchers should even survive the cut this year? The obvious ones: Lucroy Posey Gattis Grandal Contreras Martin Sanchez Ramos (somebody will roster him for the season, and probably regret it) I think we'll see fewer than 15 catchers retained, with close to half the teams in the league picking someone up in the waiver draft.
