  1. Owns Castillo.
  2. Listening to Effectively Wild, and Ben apparently asked Mike Petriello if Bautista's home to first times declined in 2016 relative to 2015, and Mike wouldn't give him the numbers because Bautista's 2016 times were so bad that he wasn't sure they were accurate. Bautista could put up some legendary UZR numbers if left in the OF all year.
  3. I'd rather have the flexibility of cutting ties at any time with no commitment than have a 10M option on his 2021 season. What are the odds that 32-year old Pillar is good enough to get significantly more than that in free agency?
  4. As I recall you were a big Arencibia guy. You doing OK with this?
  5. The guys who can hit just switch to a corner. Pillar and his pathetic bat will be lucky to have an MLB job in 5 years.
  6. He has a much more diversified skill set. Pillar is in his prime and is an 85 wRC+ bat, and needs to remain an elite CF defender to have any value. I don't think you bet on that happening in his age-32 season, 5 years down the road.
  7. Nope. Not with him pushing 30 and relying exclusively on his defense.
  8. The only real difference between him and Buster Posey is the championships.
  9. Everyone understood what he was doing.
  10. Grant is gonna be pist.
  11. Is Bautista really petty enough that the optics of a potential 60M deal were important even though there's like a 99+% chance it's 1/18.5? It's ridiculous that they even spent time negotiating this silly contract beyond the 1/18.5 term.
  12. Why the f*** was this just not made into a 1/18.5 deal?
  13. Scott Kazmir is very much available now.
  14. I hated owning Francisco Liriano. Even when he was good you never knew when he'd drop 6 walks on you. Also, Alex Cobb because he has the skillset, but seems to always find a way to turn in a near-useless season because of injuries.
  15. He'll start the year in their rotation, but his leash will be short.
  16. You don't think he has a high ceiling?
  17. I hate that I own Scott Kazmir again. I did not enjoy the experience in BORED last year.
  18. Sorry. For a team in my position, the upside of Broxton was just more attractive than the framework we were discussing.
  19. Keon Broxton + Scott Kazmir for Robert Gsellman and Gio Gonzalez
  20. Still have some pieces to sell that could be rosterable past the cut: Bats Howie Kendrick (2B, 3B, 1B, OF) Luis Valbuena Hyun-Soo Kim Relievers Cam Bedrosian Mychal Givens Pedro Baez Brad Ziegler Felipe Rivero Mid-to-back rotation starters Steven Wright Gio Gonzalez Wei-Yin Chen Robert Gsellman
  21. They project similarly, and Ottavini just had TJS. They're close enough that choosing either one makes sense. And Devenski could still start.
  22. Yeah, I don't think anyone will give a s*** if he's claimed.
  23. There's no place for Goins on this team as it's currently constructed. He needs five years of service time, so he can't refuse assignment, but he will have to clear waivers when he's sent down.
