  1. We're on it. Hoping to announce his replacement in the next day or two.
  2. Pick was rightfully jaysblue's before it was removed.
  3. Yeah, but you made this deal long before the pick values were on the sheet, and you had no reason to assume a snake draft when you made the trade.
  4. There's no defense. I accept this criticism.
  5. Appreciate you taking the time to do this. I wish we'd caught it earlier, but ultimately it won't end up being that big a deal given that only very minor deals have been affected slightly.
  6. I completely missed that. Just sent you a PM, but the first two MiLB drafts snaked because they were the reverse order of the MLB draft. Going forward, draft order is based on previous season's finish, so there should be no more snake drafts. I'm sorry I didn't notice this earlier.
  7. - Abom trade with JG34 has his 3rd and 4th rounders (milb) going to JG34. (4th rounder will be different) - Givens to spittin, spittin's 2nd to BTS (2nd rounder will be different) - To Orgfiller: Maikel Franco + milb#116 To Greenwood: milb #19 (6th rounder will be different) - To j4l19: Austin Hedges To Greenwood: milb#90 (no change) - To JaysBlue: Chad Pinder To Greenwood: milb#88 (no change) - Dee Gordon for MilB 70 (should be pick 71?) All of these trades involved picks and have been made since the order was set. I think that's all of them. So not a huge deal.
  8. I just noticed the MiLB picks are snaking, so don't trade for any more under the assumption that they're accurate. We're going to change them, unless spittin stops in to rule that they should snake, which would be dumn. This is kind of a problem, because a couple trades have already been made.
  9. Three assets left to move before the draft: pick 40 - looking for 2018 2nd or 1st round waiver pick 53 - looking for 2018 3rd pick 54 - looking for 2018 3rd
  10. Pretty sure the comps were drawn because Pint is a young, solid, 6'4 righty who throws 100 with a potential wipeout curve. He has ace upside. I expected him to miss a lot more bats in the low minors though.
  11. Pint + 2018 6th to TCA for 2018 2nd.
  12. Last chance to get a triple-digit fireballer who draws Verlander comps from scouts! Offer to beat is a 2018 2nd.
  13. I have an offer of a 2018 second for Riley Pint. I will accept by midnight tonight if nobody beats that. Would prefer to package him for a MLB SP.
  14. I'm aware of the reality of the situation, I just thought pretty everyone considered it to be more of an unfortunate outcome than a desireable one. I think the current state does a lot more harm than good. Especially when the criminal was a young teenager at the time.
  15. So the punishment for a crime isn't just the sentence you get, it's also, in some cases, a lifetime of poverty with no hope of seeing hard work pay off, or of personal success? Commit a crime at 15 when you're not even done developing and the next 70 years of your life are ruined? I realize that this is often true, but I don't understand it.
  16. For how long? To what end?
  17. Of course. What he did was wrong and he knew it. But I don't think that's the question. The question is whether he should continue to be punished if, as in the case of many offenders his age, he's now a healthy adult.
  18. A lot of kids who do this kind of thing don't re-offend as adults. If he's actually healthy now, he should be given a chance to resume his life. As others are saying, teams will have to really do their homework here.
  19. Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, he's going to hear about this as long as he's in the public eye, and it might be a legit distraction for his team. On the other, what's the point of these rehabilitation programs if adults can't participate in society because of something they did when they were younger? I don't really understand the argument that he shouldn't be allowed to play on ethical grounds. I understand why teams might avoid the headache though.
  20. Yeah, from what I'm reading he's probably a top-50 pick if this doesn't break. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Twitter seems generally outraged at the idea of him ever playing again, but you have to think some team will see this as an opportunity, especially if he starts slipping down the board. Probably signable for well under slot too.
  21. http://larrybrownsports.com/baseball/cubs-luke-heimlich-off-draft-board-sex-offender-news/374743 Where was this kid supposed to go in the draft? Seems un-Cubs like to take him off their draft board if he's a top talent that might fall because of this.
  22. I bid Roman Quinn. I have no idea who is ahead.
  23. Posting this to remind myself to switch pick 52 to jaysblue on the sheet for our Folty swap in February.
  24. Still looking to move pick #40 and Riley Pint. Looking to swap each for a 1st round waiver pick or 2018 MiLB 2nd. Would also package them up for a decent keeper-worthy SP4/5.
