  1. I can't control-f search the sheet, but it looks like pick 40 is missing. I think pick-21 (Dinger) is a relic from when P2F thought the order was snaking and Dinger's 2nd was pick 21. P2F - is this likely? anyone else - can you ctl-f search the sheet and confirm that 40 is missing? If yes on both accounts, Jim is getting the pick 20 that jaysblue was fined and there will be no pick 40, because he had no way of knowing that his pick 21 was actually pick 40, and has been operating under the assumption that it was indeed pick 21.
  2. It actually makes a lot of sense. They've been struggling with the closer spot for years, need to win now, and would see Osuna as a long-term solution. Would love to see it happen.
  3. I love Soto at 11. He'll finally stop flying under the radar.
  4. I did a few minutes ago.
  5. 17th was mentioned awhile ago. I believe that the cut down a week before is a relic from the original DDL rules, but it's not going to be earlier than the day before the draft. Nobody worth taking in the early rounds will be cut anyway, so you'll have plenty of time to adjust your board to accommodate the cuts.
  6. Huh? Draft starts the 17th at 9 AM. 12-hour windows. Cut date is going to be the 16th at midnight. Or 17th at midnight I guess it would be.
  7. Christ almighty Betances pisses me off sometimes.
  8. Biagini is a reliever who isn't elite. I wouldn't be counting on him as an important piece in 2019. And I don't really think Smith or SRF have a good chance to be regulars in 2019. Unless by good chance you mean like 10% chance they're league average players.
  9. That's why I think the turnaround can be quick, and permanent. Imagine a core of, say: Stroman Sanchez Guerrero Bichette Gurriel Robles (Osuna) Reyes (Donaldson) Kelly (Donaldson) Franklin Perez (Happ) + whatever guys like Smith, Smoak, Estrada, and Bautista bring back. Don't really care to debate the hypothetical returns, but there's an opportunity for a huge influx of talent, which could be supplemented with like $100M in payroll flexibility. At this point I'd prefer to cash in those chips than run the washed up geezers out there again in 2018 and pray for 87 wins.
  10. Not really interested in a C or TJS pitcher as the centerpiece in a Donaldson deal tbh. I think we could do better elsewhere.
  11. I don't really agree with him. What pieces from the MLB roster look like contributors in 2019 and beyond? - Pillar (will be 30 and probably somewhere between 4th OF and 2-win starter) - Travis (if he's not dead) - Stroman - Sanchez - Osuna I just don't see a foundation here. Two average (maybe) position players, a couple of non-ace starters we hope stay healthy, and a closer. I know Alford, Vlad, and Bichette are nice prospects, but I think I'd prefer to see them supplemented with a bunch of other elite young talent than spend the 2-3 years putting lipstick on this pig. I'd be looking to move pretty much everyone except maybe Stroman. But possibly also Stroman.
  12. Never trust a guy who's game depends almost entirely on his legs and is approaching 30.
  13. Processed Also, a note on 2018 MiLB pick: they aren't officially available yet, so you're making a handshake agreement with the person you're trading with. When the 2017 draft is over, you'll have to remind a commish to add the 2018 picks to your list.
  14. Moose is such an underrated stud. 24 homers already.
  15. If there's any way to get Tulo and his contract off the team, that would be great. Probably not possible without eating huge money though.
  16. I'll process this tonight. Also yes, 7 prospects and 5 MiLB picks in the draft would bring you to your limit.
  17. Congrats on the first W Jim.

Ottawa's offseason has been very bad so far: - Lose Methot to the expansion draft and watch as Dallas acquires him for a 2020 2nd round pick. - sign a mediocre 4th line C for 1.65M/year - 3 years @ 2.4 for Condon - the optics of Alfredsson leaving the team again I hate Eugene Melnyk.
  19. Yup. First comment nailed it, so of course they were downvoted into oblivion.

  21. Did you read the one about Pujols the other day? Even Jeff Sullivan is writing bad articles now.
  22. Phillies promote Nick Williams. This won't likely go well.
  23. He gets to collect that sweet MLB salary while recovering at least.
  24. Wow, Trea Turner broken wrist.
