Pillar right now? Yes. But Simmons was entering his age-26 season and controllable for 5 more years, and was coming off a 3-win age-25 season. An asset like Newcomb, with long odds to ever be a 3-win player, was nowhere close to an adequate return.

Wow, Andrelton Simmons has a 120 wRC+ and 4.5 fWAR. He's provided LA with 7.6 wins in less than two years, and is under control for three more years. Trading him for Sean Newcomb was never not insane.

What was our trade? Kazmir + Broxton for Gsellman + Gio I think? Gsellman and Kazmir are complete zeros, so you'll end the year ahead in this one because Gio has been better than Broxton. I'll almost certainly hold on Broxton though. He's going to go 20-25 in a very disappointing year and I can't quit on those tools.

Anyway, I'm done arguing about the value of a fringy reliever. My objection to you is more broad in that I've played 8 dynasty seasons with you across two leagues and not once have you hinted at even trying to win. I think that you're either trolling, or the worst dynasty player on the forum. I don't really care which it is, because either way it's bad for the league.

If we took a league poll right now I bet two guys would say Bedrosian and Steckenrider currently hold equal value.

I should probably point out that a) Givens is about 5 months older than Steckenrider without about 10 times the track record of success, and nobody has met my asking price. So assuming Steckenrider has 1st round value when he was on the waiver wire a week ago is still highly dubious despite the mental gymnastics.

Gibbers is the only owner I've ever played with that made me question whether or not they planned to ever try to win. We'll be entering season 6 next year, and he's seemingly never entertained the idea of trying to make the playoffs. It feels a lot more like a long troll than it does an owner who has struggled to put a quality team together. Combined with him being very difficult to reach, and his series of questionable moves with jaysblue, I don't think we'd have a difficult time finding an owner that improved the quality of the DDL.

A fair bit of it, yeah. Posey and Marte are franchise-altering talents that have helped you dramatically.

The absolute worst part of the DDL is jaysblue building his team by repeatedly pillaging Gibbers, and then routinely coming in to defend Gibbers' side of moves that clearly worked out better for him while he sits at the top of the standings and Gibbers toils near last place.

Let's make a deal jaysblue: I'll give you Givens and a 2nd for Cozart. If your trade was fair value, you should accept this quick win, because Givens is better than Steckenrider and a 2nd is better than a 4th + 5th.

Yeah, my team is awful and I would have definitely picked up a waiver wire reliever and traded him and a couple of worthless picks for Cozart.

Myers + Profar + Chacin for Posey + Hutchison (2014) Marte for Odorizzi + Heaney (2015) Osuna for Luke Weaver + a late first + a bunch of garbage Cozart for Stechenrider + garbage You've been feasting on him for years. And these are just the ones I remember.

Pretty much all of them. We've been talking about the trades between you two since year 1. Posey. Marte. Osuna. The list goes on.

Nobody cares that you traded Cozart. They care that you traded him to your buddy for a reliever he picked up a week ago.

I'm serious when I say I think the commish should veto. I've never asked for one before, but this is just the latest in a long line of moves between these two teams that are questionable. We need to put an end to it.
