  1. Guys, it's time to wrap up the BBDL. Experiments fail. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
  2. I loved Law's list. My personal highlights: - Giving Kaprielian and Alvarez the respect denied to them by BA. - Ranking Justus Sheffield 16th!!!! - JP Crawford 10th. With BA's 16 ranking, the scouting world is back on JPC as a blue chip prospect.
  3. Welp, I'm spent: "If Acuna stays in center and maxes out his power, he's going to be among the best players in baseball, with a Mike Trout-ish profile. Even if Acuna hits "only" about 20 homers a year, it'll come with 40-50 doubles, huge contact rates and solid OBPs. The presence of Inciarte and Cristian Pache may push Acuna to a corner for Atlanta, but he could play center field for many clubs, and it's reasonable to think he'll be a plus defender in right field anyway. There's still a little variance in how the bat projects, but there's a higher probability of Acuna being an above-average regular for a long time than any other player in the minors." I love Keith Law now
  4. The upside remains, but I'm out. Too many red flags.
  5. I'm trading Jose De Leon to Orgfiller for Zach Davies
  6. Also, has MLB.com actually released their new 2018 list, or is that the slightly edited midseason version?
  7. Should I add razzball to BA, BP, MLB.com, and Law as lists I care about?
  8. I actually think yahoo should have gotten ahead of this last year when Rizzo started accruing games at 2B, and announced changes to the way they determine position, effective 2018. Make it strictly games started, as you say. Easy fix.
  9. That is completely absurd and I do not like it.
  10. OK, I'm auctioning Dustin Pedroia. Best offer by Sunday at 11:59 PM ET gets him. I reserve the right to end my auction early if I get an offer I really like, as I did with my Sean Doolittle trade.
  11. Anybody have 1-51 on his list?
  12. What list is that Spanky?
  13. Vet free agents the new market inefficiency?
  14. I surely never said that. I'm only lukewarm on Soto. Not even sure I want to roster him, really.
  15. No idea. Might buy up some potential cuts closer to the deadline, but it's only trash being made available now.
  16. You really can't be trading pieces like Gleyber Torres to rent a reliever.
  17. I only really have Acuna and Rodgers with that level of upside. Outside chance Meadows gets there if he can stay healthy I guess.
  18. In a Dynasty ranking you'd probably move Rodgers up around the top-10 and Crawford down close to 50. I get it from a MLB perspective though. Crawford is going to stick at short, and is one of the safest bets on that list to be at least an average MLB player.
  19. We're doing this? 1 Ronald Acuna 16 J.P. Crawford 22 Brendan Rodgers 31 Scott Kingery 35 Franklin Perez 37 Alex Verdugo 41 Justus Sheffield 44 Austin Meadows 49 Jesus Sanchez 61 Brandon Woodruff 64 Jorge Mateo 66 Adrian Morejon 90 Tyler Mahle 93 Nick Gordon I also thought Kaprielian, Yadier Alvarez, and De Leon each stood a chance to make it, but alas, they did not.
  20. The only prospects I'd hesitate to move for Yelich, assuming I plan to win at some point in the next 5 years, are Ohtani, Vlad, and Acuna.
  21. Has a team ever had 1-2? Jays have an outside shot with expected graduations of Robles, Torres, Ohtani, and possibly Jimenez.
  22. "You're all cute" - Tyler Glasnow You're free to take this as either a cautionary tale about pitching prospects, me pumping Glasnow's tires, or the basis for a discussion about how quickly any of these guys' stock will collapse if they look bad in their first 85 MLB innings.
  23. I think people might be overstating the value of his uniqueness. He's a pitcher who's probably going to DH a couple of times a week, and might not be an above-average hitter. He also has a partially torn UCL apparently. I'd definitely take Vlad and Acuna over him.
  24. Acuna is really, really good.
