  1. short-term: Vlad - 3B Manny - SS Bo - 2B/super util 2020 and beyond Manny - 3B Bo - SS Vlad - 1B
  2. Pipe dream: big market teams are scared away by Machado's hustle comments and Toronto swoops in and signs him.
  3. Yeah, we're close to being one of those orgs that pumps out more talent than they can use and ends up having to move MLB-ready players before the Rule V. They're assembling the foundation of a long-term competitor right now, and they're not getting enough credit for what's been accomplished.
  4. Looking at the current 40-man, and I know we have a lack of high end talent on the 25-man right now, but does anyone remember ever having more depth on the 40-man? There are still some black holes that will hopefully be removed once the team makes additions this offseason (Urena, Davis and Leiter Jr. probably being the three biggest wastes of space), but there's depth beyond the 25-man here. Assuming they add 1 or two legit starters in the offseason, we're looking at guys like Paulino, SRF, Merryweather, Murphy, Perez, and Thornton as depth starters. It's been a long time since spots 25-40 on the 40-man have been this young and had this much potential to be contributing major league players over the medium term.
  5. The Rockies can't start Ian Desmond 130 times at 1B again, and there isn't much of anything available at 1B on the market. They should make a claim. But they probably won't.
  6. Cron DFA'd last night coming off a 122 wRC+ and 2.1 fWAR season. I guess this tells us that Smoak doesn't really have any trade value. I don't really understand why the 1B market has collapsed the way it has. Teams like the Rockies and Angels are trying to win and seem content running sub-replacement level garbage out there at 1B.
  7. Yeah I don’t get it either. I thought for sure Solarte would be cut by now. Maybe they’re trying to bring him back for less than he’d get in arb.
  8. I’m pleased that they didn’t protect Romano
  9. I don’t think we’ve had a new poster on this forum in the last two years.

  11. I did not message you about the league.
  12. I hope the new league they're leaving us for ends up being terrible TBQHWY.
  13. The Jays need to get good again so site traffic picks up. Pickings are slim for new owners right now.
  14. Ugh, Urena really sucks. He's one of 2-3 players on the 40-man that I don't even think deserves his spot.
  15. Pretty much everything written about Thornton makes me think of Seth Lugo. That wouldn't be a bad thing.
  16. I thought he’d be back for one more. Sad to see him go.

She was 11 in 1981 Spanky. That’s a pretty deep and dark secret.
  18. Mathis got a 2/6.25 guarantee. Market for catching seems pretty hot.
  19. - sign Corbin/Keuchel - sign Machado - move Andujar to 1B - re-sign Robertson, because why not? That would be the best team we've seen in a long time.
  20. Severino Paxton Tanaka ??? Sabathia C - Sanchez 1B - ??? 2B - Torres 3B - Andujar SS - Gregorius CF - Hicks LF - Stanton RF - Judge OF - Gardner Chapman/Betances/Green That team is absurd.
  21. Wow, the full trade is Sheffield, Dom Thompson-Williams, and Erik Swanson. The latter two might not even be top-20 in New York's system. They pretty much just turned a good pitching prospect with warts into two years of an ace.
  22. If a pitching prospect is the centrepiece this is probably a bad deal.
  23. A couple of moves today: - Nats sign Kurt Suzuki for 2/10 - Indians acquire Chih-wei Hu for Gionti Turner I like that addition for Cleveland.
  24. I'm still peddling C.J. Cron and Ji-Man Choi for MiLB or waiver upgrades.
  25. My recollection is that everyone liked the Happ signing. At least if you're talking about the people on this forum. Edit: I was curious, so I looked it up: https://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/5829-JA-Happ-Signing-Good-Bad?highlight=Happ 75% of posters liked the signing. And the no votes were from posters like the dogg and Boxcar.
