Pretty good battle this week TCA. Both teams are crushing it across the board.

I think that would bother me less than digital ads on the field. I find digital ads very distracting. I can't not notice the ads on the glass that hockey starting using a coulpe years ago.

Digital ads displayed on the pitching mound are f***ing awful. I hate Rob Manfred so much. The mound on the Padres game right now looks absurd.

So the Giants have one of the best offenses in the league so far. I'm pretty sure they would have been a consensus bottom-5 offense going into the season. Look at these wRC+ numbers: Slater 198 Belt 182 Yastrzemski 163 Solano 141 Dickerson 132 Flores 124 Longoria 123 Crawford 119 All of these guys are at least 20% above pre-season projections.

I know these things never really work out the way you hope, but right now there are least 4 in-house options that look like slam dunks for the 2021 rotation in Ryu, Pearson, Anderson, and Stripling. And I’m guessing they’ll be looking to add to the front of that. I’m guessing they’d undo the Roark contract if they could.

Yup. He’s been great for 400 innings before stumbling a bit in 30 innings this year. I’m not sure why people thought 2+ years of him would basically be free.

I don't really understand what you think you're contributing. Everyone here knows what Ray is: a starter with good stuff who has been good in the past and one of the worst pitchers in baseball this year. They're taking a flier on guy hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. They gave up next to nothing for him. It might work. It probably won't. Pointing out that he's been bad isn't interesting - we all know. Whining that you prefer Clevinger isn't interesting - we don't care. -

Came in here to post that it reminds me of the Liriano acquisition. I wonder what role they have in mind? He's an absolute dumpster fire right now, and there isn't much time to get him right. -
The Angels have 3 pieces in place for their 2020 rotation: Bundy, Heaney, and Canning should all be viable starters next year. They'll also have Ohtani, ostensibly. They're one addition away from not having a terrible group: Bauer/Stroman/trade acquisition Ohtani Bundy Heaney Canning Sandoval/Suarez/Barria/Andriese That's not a bad group. Especially when you have Trout, Rendon, and to a lesser extent Fletcher and Ohtani (DH) already in place.

Teams 5 and 11 in the standings are separated by 5.5 games. Gonna be a wild finish. Abom is first in the power rankings and is going to miss the playoffs. FTD is 2nd and is probably going to miss the playoffs.
