    The current Rays suck to watch. It's largely a bunch of platoon-y players, starters they only ask to go 4-5 innings, and long relievers. Almost none of their current contributors will even be with the team in 3 years. Being a fan of that team would be awful. The 2008-2013 Rays were a lot of fun. Always a deep rotation featuring guys like Price/Shields/Garza and later on Archer and Moore. And the lineup had actual long-term star appeal: Longoria was on a HoF trajectory, Zobrist was low-key great, Crawford was an exciting lead-off hitter, Jennings and Upton were young and exciting and contributed despite never really reaching their potential. Pena was a middle of the order monster for a few years. And the bullpen was always lights out.

    So what are we doing with the consolation bracket? It's not automatic like it was in Yahoo, so we don't have to bother if we don't want to. No consolation matches at all? Just a 3rd place matchup between the semi-finals losers?

    I blame Alex Anthopoulos for all of this. I can't find anthopoulosfatwaddle.gif, but he set the tone years ago that obesity was acceptable even at the highest levels of the org, and we're still feeling the effects. Thankfully, Mark Shapiro seems like the kind of guy who would have bullied soft-bodies in high school, so I'm sure he's taken steps to ensure proper shaming of professional athletes with Rosie O'Donnell's physique. Culture changes take time.

    You can. Commish - Teams and Schedules - Playoffs - Playoff Matchups Entered Manually Then edit in the Matchups page as usual.

    I’d actually rather play z3r0s (this will haunt me when I lose) , but the standings page in Fantrax doesn’t reflect the selected tie-breaker settings. According to the settings it should be me vs. Hurl and Org vs. z3r0s. Doesn’t really matter in this case, but in BORED it had the actual 8th seed in 9th on the standings page.

    Entered the R1 matchups in Fantrax: 1. The Booze Hound vs. 8 Ye Be Judged 2. MADVille vs. 7. Speedy 3. The Bad Guy vs. 6. Pendleton4Life19 4. Whole Lotta Spooge vs. 5. Danger's Dirty 25 As usual, Division Winners get spots 1-4, and then 4-8 are the next best 4 teams. Also note that the standings tie-breakers were set to 1. H2H record vs. all teams tied with 2. Most wins So the three way tie for spots 7,8,9 were settled as follows: - Whole Lotta Spooge beat Acuna Matata H2H and thus won the divison and the 4th seed. - Ye Be Judged and Acuna Matata didn't play each other H2H, so Ye Be Judged took the 8th seed because they had 45 wins and Acuna Matata had 43. Please look everything over and make sure your team was handled correctly.

    I tried pointing this out to you when the trade was made, but the problem is that you're misreading the sentiment here, intentional or otherwise. Posters here understand that Robbie Ray has been terrible this season. They also understand that it's unlikely that the team fixes him over the course of a few weeks. Pointing out the obvious isn't as interesting a take as you seem to think it is. They took a shot on a skilled pitcher who is a mess right now. They gave up nothing of value to do it. I think almost everyone on this site understands exactly what this trade was and what it wasn't.
