So the Rangers have traded a borderline elite young winger for a face puncher and a 2nd and given Barclay Goodrow a 6 year deal at almost 4M per year. Tom Wilson has almost single handedly torpedoed their franchise.

Well if I thought Murphy was a 0.621 OPS guy I wouldn’t have acquired him! Mental accounting might have led to me undervaluing him. I considered him a trade chip from the time I acquired him. We’ll see what happens.

Ottawa's Director of hockey operations was the team's data analyst for multiple years despite having no background or experience in data analysis. They have an analytics consultant who isn't even a full-time employee of the team. There's nobody else. This is how you end up trading a 2nd round pick for Derek Stepan and signing Matt Murray to an absurd deal because he has Stanley Cup pedigree.

It's a gamble. I'm 6th in the power rankings, but I have the league's best pitching staff (to this point). I think I have a chance to make noise in the playoffs with Cruz, especially if Bellinger comes to life. I'm also not currently in a playoff spot, so this could end in disaster.

McCann is a great pickup for the Leafs at a cheap price. And of course the Senators don't make a single move. A stockpile of picks and prospects, 20+M in cap space, and they'll protect Zaitsev, White, and f***ing Austin Watson instead of adding actual talented players.

I dislike Marcus Stroman immensely on a personal level. Will listen to offers on similarly valuable SP if someone's looking for a change. CF could also be a fit.
