Yeah, now that the deadline is moved everything is fine. Sucks that Fantrax shows extra weeks in the scoring tab.

Just looking over the schedule to make sure everything is lined up. I set the schedule to 19 weeks back in April after posting this, and its unchangeable in Fantrax. So playoffs start week 20, which is August 29th. For some reason, Fantrax is showing 21 regular season weeks in the scoring tab, but those last two weeks were never scheduled.

BORED has the same issue. I was sure both were configured properly when the season started. Edit: Did some digging in the BORED thread and a 19-week season was always the intent there, to give us a balanced schedule. I'm guessing that was also the intent in DDL.

I have no faith at all in Springs, Rasmussen, or Kluber as playoff starters.

Weird stuff going on with the schedule. - We have 21 weeks in the scoring tab, taking us to Sunday September 11th. Playoffs would be 3 weeks and end October 2nd, with the MLB season ending on Oct 5th. - Under League Setup -> Teams & Schedules -> Playoffs the playoffs are scheduled to begin on week 20, starting August 29th. Our playoffs would be over on September 18th. This is also before our current trade deadline. There's also a note saying this can't be changed without contacting Fantrax.

It's not a good roster. If Baz and Gasnow were healthy they'd be a dangerous playoff team with those two and McClanahan, but I don't think either of them will pitch this year.

You'd ideally like them to provide lots of surplus early on to make up for the expected negative value on the back end.

Yeah. It feels like every time the Cardinals in particular decide to make a big investment it works out great for them. Can't really remember the last major flop.

I'm not sure what to make of their approach. The goal is to compete every year, and usually teams who operate like that are very risk averse - even the Dodgers are really careful about who they allocate big money to. But Toronto has made a number of high risk decisions: - holding on to JD for 2018, largely for PR reasons and crossing their fingers that he'd maintain value at the deadline - 80M for Ryu - 150M for Springer - trading for Berrios and then giving him 130M They've been a lot more open to risk, at least on the financial side, than I think any of us expected 3-4 years ago. And I'm not sure Ross has been super great at allocating that capital.

I’d sell him for a decent pick or prospect. Maybe a mid rotation SP.

Never really expected to win in year one after the dispersal, and don’t really feel like I’ve set the foundation for perpetual contention yet. But also, I’m shopping Rodon for a bat, not just a pick/prospect package.
