  1. Dinger has this thing wrapped up anyway. Why move assets for a 33-year old with injury issues when you won't win this year anyway?
  2. Can't. Rays have no fans to talk to.
  3. on bluejaysmessageboard.com? No way!
  4. Alex Cobb is a boss, that's how. Rays now back to 4 games under 0.500.
  5. This won't end well.
  6. I haven't made an offer on Bautista.
  7. Not really sure why he's taking it so slow. Bautista isn't exactly a model of health, and his value drops significantly if he gets hurt.
  8. Thanks. That's what I thought.
  9. Ugh. I had been assuming it was 750k to buyout the entire deal.
  10. Upton gave them like 22 wins. Nothing wrong with that.
  11. I don't think this is true. Brandon McCarthy returned nothing, and he's a fair bit better than Happ. Most teams avoid paying real money for guys like Happ.
  12. Probably a lot of hoop-jumping for what would amount to a pretty paltry return. The salary is fair, but teams are going to be able to find a lot of fair salaries for 5/6 starters. If you decide the money is best spent elsewhere, the 200K buyout is likely more attractive than waiting until a GM with $7 million burning a hole in his pocket has struck out on free agency.
  13. J.A. Happ has continued to do J.A. Happ stuff this year. He's a perfectly fine 5th/6th starter. The question that will come up this offseason (and which was debated endlessly last offseason) is whether or not he's worth his contract TO THIS TEAM. He has a $6.7 team option, and everything we know says he's probably worth that cash in a context-neutral environment, but given the team's roster/payroll situation, he's probably not a luxury the team can afford.

    NHL Thread

There was a thread on HF like 10 games into his Leafs tenure in which Leaf fans were pretty much unanimously in agreement that they had found their 2nd line C going forward.
  15. Headley is 30 and is going to be an above-average player for the 5th consecutive year this year.
  16. Wow, I had no idea Tirado had been this bad.
  17. You don't own this guy in the DDL do you?

That roster is... not very good. Not Ottawa bad, but not good.
  19. I really hate being subjected to non-baseball guests in the broadcast booth.

Damn. I'm really hoping he's actually dumn, because I hate the leafs with a fiery passion.

So does anyone know if this guy is actually a smart statsy guy, or was he just given the title of stats guru AA-style by the media because he's young and said analytics are cool?

David Booth is a nice player if healthy. And he loves Jesus a lot, so there's that.
  23. Chase Headley has a career 0.314 wOBA at home and 0.352 on the road. Completely free of Padres hitters now. Hopefully he extends with New York.
