  1. It was always weird that for that one trade Boston felt the need to act like a small market team
  2. Toronto kind of seems to be in a window right now instead of primed for perpetual contention. Might as well just get a top-3 hitter in the game and try to make as much noise as possible in 2024. Recoup some value via a comp pick in the offseason.
  3. Tiedemann for Soto. Get it done Shatkins.
  4. It remains absurd that people who pay hundreds of dollars for MLB.tv can't watch playoff games.

Just watched. That has to be at least manslaughter, right?
  6. Could listen on Matt Olson if the deal includes a stud bat at 2B, 3B, or CF

Does Cabbie still come on exclusively to do intermission gambling segments? I hope this s*** goes the way of cigarette ads.

  9. The Dog probably already has multiple skin suits
  10. I think we'll see Atkins replaced if the team doesn't get out of the wild card round in 2024. Shapiro probably stays as long as he wants.

Seravalli has hinted that he was passing information to friends who were betting for him by proxy. Apparently Bettman wanted the suspension to be longer than 41 games. Also notable that this was negotiated by the PA, so there will be no appeal. Seems clear he did something to actually warrant the suspension.
  12. Atkins/Shapiro are almost certainly in the same boat in like 95% of MLB orgs: a fanbase that's wants change, and ownership that not going to move on yet. Your post was dumb.
  13. It would be nice if Fantrax had a box for 'maintain waiver priority order' when starting a new season/finalizing draft list etc... It's absurd that we have to manually fix the order 3-4 times a year.
  14. 3 of the 7 The only org that seems to have a trigger finger less than 8-10 years for the people they hire to run baseball ops is Boston
  15. Dodgers have been letting Andrew Friedman lose in the playoffs with a top-3 payroll in baseball for the last decade, with the only exception being the short season. Kenny Williams was in charge in Chicago for like 15 straight years of ineptitude. Preller has mismanaged a massive payroll in SD for years with no consequences. Cashman in NY. Dipoto has been treading water for like 8 years in Seattle. Zaidi has had one good season in SF and just got a 4 year contract extension. Daniels got to botch things in Texas for like 10 years. connorp is not a serious poster
  16. I think our waiver order got f***ed up again
  17. Yeah. Toronto has a 3.86 ERA over the last 3 years and Baltimore is at 4.56. I don't know if Baltimore is going to be able to reproduce the success they had dumpster diving in 2023, but to whatever extent they're better than Toronto at turning shitbags into useful arms (and I'm not convinced they are), Toronto can just keep flopping that Rogers wallet down and making up the difference. And Atkins and his nerds have been really, really good at identifying proven arms to invest in.
  18. Hendricks gone. Still have 1-2 starters to sell. Seth Lugo seems most likely. Possibly Paxton. Or Lynn, but I'm probably the only Lance Lynn truther remaining so that seems unlikely.
  19. Bautista has been there for like 8 years. Perez and Baker kind of suck. This was the first year in the last 3 that Baltimore had a great pen overall. We'll see if it was a one-year thing, especially with Bautista dead.
  20. I think Baltimore might be getting too much credit for being a pitching factory. In the last 4 years they've taken Bradish, Cano, and maybe Coulombe from outside the org and turned them into excellent arms. Maybe a few other relievers who had a good year then fell off the year following. They've thrown a ton of s*** against the wall to find those guys though. I don't know if their working finding pitching from nothing is more impressive than Toronto turning Ray from a mess into a CY winner, Stripling into a 3-win SP etc...
  21. 5 -> 3 pick upgrade is the offer to beat on Hendricks
  22. How does she feel about 90-day fiance?
  23. There's no positional adjustment for wRC+
  24. Still looking to move some pieces for picks/prospects/red flags: Justin Turner Seth Lugo Kyle Hendricks possibly Paxton
  25. Welcome back, sheriff
