  1. Flyers are down 5-4 and Luke Schenn is -5.
  2. What if Stanton gets hurt again? What if Donaldson gets better?
  3. 4 years of control >>>>>>>> 2 years of control With their 2015 projections basically a wash, there isn't an argument for Stanton.
  4. All things considered, clearly Donaldson right now.

Ryan Kesler off to a hot start for Anaheim.
  6. Donaldson is interesting because he'll hit free agency entering his age-33 season which should prevent a 7-8 year mega-deal. If you acquire him, you count on superstar Donaldson over the next 2-3 arb years, but there's also the possibility that he extends for a palatable amount of money given his age. It's an opportunity to add a franchise talent for close to a decade if things go well.
  7. So yahoo isn't bother to indicate which players are playing this year? I check in at 6:45 to see who's playing, and nothing is indicated.
  8. I love the aspect of trying to find wingers who take faceoffs though. FO's >>>>> SH % (or plus/minus) for me.
  9. Anybody else see Hanley as the biggest landmine in this year's free agent class? Do not want, at all.
  10. The point was that Stanton is not better than Donaldson. Trout is better than Donaldson.
  11. If it were 4 years of Stanton and not Donaldson nobody would hesitate. Donaldson is so underrated.
  12. But what are we giving up? A reliever, a guy who can't stay on the field enough to put up 2 wins, and a very good pitching prospect. For 4 years of a legit MVP candidate in his prime, that's not too much.
  13. Both, I guess, though I'm a lot closer to agreeing with your approach to real baseball when salaries are involved.
  14. As KingKat says, it's possible to have desirable assets on a team that isn't competitive. Most bad teams have desirable assets. If you want to actually win games, you can't be afraid to roster older players though. Four years of Josh Donaldson (maybe 7-8 years - who knows?) does more for this team than a collection of younger, cheaper players who aren't close to as good. I don't think you can take the position you take and still field a viable team.
  15. Obviously because good young players are desirable assets. If you refuse to mix in quality vets you're probably going to do a lot of losing though.
  16. You kind of need players who are actually good though, even if they're older than 27. Otherwise you get your DDL squad.

Several stupid things, but what stuck out was saying that next to LA, the Canadiens are the team that every other team in the league is gunning for because they have 24 Stanley Cups.

Just saw Subban's post-game interview. He is not an intelligent man.
  19. If someone with commish powers could process our Greiss deal, dropping Olli that would be great. At your earliest convenience of course.
